February continued with the installation of amazing pikes
On Thursday, February 13, another significant fish stocking was carried out by our Association. In accordance with our approved fish management plan and our concept of maintaining a diverse fish population, a total of 600 kg of beautiful, healthy pike were released into the Vásárlón waters.

The pikes were transported from the Mikei site of Tógazda Fishing Zrt., accompanied by our professional fish guards, and were placed in the following fishing waters:
- Magyarszecsőd lake – 100 kg (approx. 140-150 pcs)
- Szombathely Boating Lake – 50 kg (approx. 70-75 pcs)
- Szombathely Fishing Lake – 100 kg (approx. 140-150 pcs)
- Lake Gencsapáti – 50 kg (approx. 70-75 pcs)
- Lake Abert I – 100 kg (approx. 140-150 pcs)
- Lake Abért II – 200 kg (approx. 240-250 pcs)
The successful installation will not only bring joy to spinning and predatory fish anglers, but will also contribute to preserving the diversity of the fish population. Depending on the availability of forage fish, some of them may reach the catchable size by this autumn, but it is important to note that the majority of them have not yet reached the 40 cm size that can be kept, and they are protected by a ban period until March 31!
We ask our fellow anglers to spare the newly planted juvenile pike and not to fish for them intentionally! In case of an accidental catch, release them back into the water as gently as possible so that they can have as many experiences as possible in the fall.
We would also like to remind everyone that there is a general ban on artificial bait predatory fish on Lakes Abert I and II – which are part of our C&R waters – until April 30, 2025!
Thank you for looking after the native fish population of our waters! Our association continues to work to ensure that all anglers have enjoyable recreation and unforgettable fishing experiences on the Vasi Vizes.

The cooperation agreement signed between MOHOSZ and our Association in December allows daily, weekly and annual fishing tickets issued for Vás waters to be valid for the Döröskei Reservoir from January 1, 2025 - without having to exchange for a separate regional ticket. ( We wrote about this in detail here. ) It is important to mention that this year the Vás territorial tickets did not increase in price, and thus the number of water areas available for fishing did not decrease, despite the fact that the local government will utilize the Sárvíz Lake in Gersekarát itself from February 1, 2025.
