Amurs dominated this year's Szecsőd Cup

The last stop of the Vasi Vizeken Best Sport Angler competition series for hobby anglers, the Vasi Vizeken-Garbolino-Tacklebait Magyarszecsődi Lake Cup, was held on the Magyarszecsőd gravel mine lake on Sunday. Of the 33 adult entrants, 28 and 6 of the juniors were present on the morning of the competition due to cancellations.

The opening ceremony was held by executive president Norbert Puskás, and then professional fisher Benjámin Seregi, the designated competition official, took the floor and explained the most important rules in a few sentences. Then came the raffle of places.

Feeding could start at 9:20 in the morning. But before that, the bait and feed material were checked, and the competition judges found everything in order. At 9:30 a.m., the competition started with the sound of bagpipes. We didn't have to wait long for the first bites, several of which were grass carp.

The members of the competition committee were able to meet several types of fishing methods, the popular feeder and fine rig fishing were also present. There were those who specifically fished for small fish, and then tried to catch as many of them as possible.

At the beginning of the competition, we managed to hook an approx. 7 kg amur for Tibor Pajtli (Spartacus) , which was a valuable catch in the summer heat. It was expected in the great heat wave that the grass carp would eat the best, for those who set out to fish for this fish in a targeted manner, it finally brought the expected result.

The end of the race was at 1:30 p.m., which was also signaled by a horn. The judging started in the youth category and then continued with the hobby category. As the judging team progressed, the final order began to become clearer.

In the hobby category, he was able to stand on the podium as 3rd place: Gábor Szabó (Spartacus HE.) with 1960 grams, as 2nd place: Zoltán Töreki (Répcelak Városi Bányász HE.) with 6360 grams, and the winner of the competition was Tibor Pajtli (Spartacus HE.) with 13,020 grams. who, by the way, also won the competition in Szecőd last year.

Tibor Pajtli revealed after the competition that based on the experience he gained last year, this year he specifically fished for Amur, which paid off for him, because he managed to catch more. According to him, he still lost a lot of fish, accompanied by a few line breaks. He used tiger nuts and corn feed material as bait.

In the hobby youth category, the podium positions were as follows:

1st place: Zsolt Bálint - 1460 gr. - HE Körmendi Munkás.

2nd place: Dávid Bálint - 1020 gr. - HE Körmendi Munkás.

3rd place: Áron Hajós - 720 gr. - HE Körmendi Munkás.

Norbert Puskás and Benjámin Seregi handed over the cups, diplomas and Garbolino-Tacklebait gift vouchers, and they thanked the anglers for their sporting competition and wished them more successful fishing.
