St. Peter's fishing cup XI. times
On the occasion of the founding of the state, the St. Petersburg fishing cup was held on the Pinka stream for the eleventh time, which has been an integral part of the St. Petersburg Sports Day for many, many years.
Registration was on the football field from 7 am during which 14 adults and 4 young anglers indicated their intention to participate in the white water competition. After that, Milán Tóth, the competition director, and István Fördős, the fishing guard, briefed the teammates about the technical knowledge and rules, after which the starting places were drawn and occupied.
The preparation for the competition started in gloomy weather, and then in the still windy weather the sun was already shining, so the 3-hour competition started at 8 o'clock in perfect time. The water this time was a bit cloudy compared to last year’s fight, causing some headaches for anglers. Among the gear, most were made with carp, but some, over the years of experience, immediately threw fine gear at targeting smaller fish.
Aunt Mónika Skrapits set the bar high already in the first half of the race, as she opened the race with a beautiful white water point of 4,380 kg. Hearing the news spread like wildfire on the waterfront, harder gear set in the water.
Most of them focused on catching carp introduced on Tuesday all the time. As the deliberations have shown, the latter tactic has paid off, as small fish could not be encountered in large quantities this time. In addition to a few carp, we also managed to drive chub and bream into the mouth during the competition.
The friendly term fit the competition in an absolute way, as fun and friendly jokes played a major role on the river bank. However, the final order was also announced here as the end of the day.
Among adults, Nagyné Skrapits Mónika (Sárvíz-Tavi HE.) Was the best with a total capacity of 4380 grams. Dániel Horváth (SHE. Kőszegi) finished in second place with 2340 grams, while the bronze medalist Zoltán Teklits (HE. Sárvíz-Tavi) finished with 980 grams.
There was a lot of excitement among the children during the deliberations. The fate of the rankings was just a few snecs. In the youth category of the Eleventh Sports Day in St. Petersburg, Skrapits Goran (Sárvíz-Tavi HE.) Won the gold medal, his brother Ivan Skrapits (Sárvíz-Tavi HE.) Won the silver medal, and Kornél Pataki (Border Guard SHE.) Won the bronze medal. It is a rarity, but a tie developed in second and third place. The catches of both young pecans weighed the same on the scales, ranking the number of fish caught, which now placed Ivan in second place.
The trophies, medals and prizes offered by the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Anglers were handed over by the main organizers at a joint results announcement held in the late afternoon.
