The Aber Lake Feeder Semi-Final ended with the victory of Péter Bakó
With 180 kilograms together, Péter Bakó, three-time world champion and eight-time Hungarian champion competition angler, won the semi-final of the Method Feeder national championship on Lake Abért in Lukácsháza.
The weather gave up the lesson for the field, the elements had to be fought, especially on Sunday, but the three-day race still produced outstanding catch results. The best iron driver was Zoltán Török, who finished fourth in the final.
The race started on Friday in pleasant, sunny weather and light winds. Places were drawn online in the morning. In four sectors, 40 tried to hook as many fish as possible. In the previous training days, everyone has already gained experience on the track.
József Papp - Hungarian champion competition angler
"I've found that there are more fish than water, from the edge of the islands all the way there can be fish .... carp is also on the water."
The elite of the field marched in the competition, world champions and Hungarian champions fought for the finals.
Gábor Döme - world champion competition angler
"Very interesting and technical track ... can they be cheated."
We didn't have to wait long for the first bites. The track gave the fish nicely, the catch came rhythmically, crucian carp and bream got into the sacks, but there were also a large number of small and large carp and good grass carp.
In addition to Lukácsháza, at the same time, semi-finals were also held in Székesfehérvár and Kiskunhalas, a total of 80 people.
Ambrus Tibor - head of the office responsible for competitive sports, MOHOSZ
"More than 400 people took part in the qualifiers ... they are organizing a method feeder World Cup in Hungary for the first time ... they will qualify."
Lake Abért in Lukácsháza has now debuted as the venue for a real big national competition.
Norbert Puskás - executive chairman, Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Anglers' Associations
"Hopefully the racers will like it too ... they'll still be here on Lake Abért."
Anglers had to endure harsh weather on Sunday, and stormy winds and rain made things difficult for them. This was the most trying stage of the three-hour five-hour battle. The fish ate well, averaging 30-40 kg.
Péter Bakó - world champion competition angler
"It was a really good race, maybe I caught most of the fish on the track ... conditions too."
With balanced racing, the victory came to Péter Bakó, who fished two sectors one and one two during the three days. The second place was taken by János Varga, the third step of the podium was Martin Nagy. 14 competitors from Lukácsháza made it to the finals, which will be held at the Maconka Reservoir.
