Modest catches in the Iron Waters-Decathlon Carat Cup
The pecans met on the second stage of the Vasi Vizek's best sport fishing competition series, on Sárvíz Lake in Gersekarát, on Sunday. There was a fight for the Carat Cup in the hobby, competition and youth categories, with a total of 47 nominated. The fish were not partners this time, with rather poor catch results.
Pleasant, sunny weather and a relatively strong crosswind greeted the field on Lake Gersekarát. In the competitor category, 29, 5 among the youngsters and 13 among the competitors competed for the first place. In the competitor category, the participants are already past a round organized by the Association on May 1 in Kerkafalva, this year's competition series has just started in the hobby category.
Gersekaráti Sárvíz Lake, which is popular among anglers, provided a weaker catch result than ever before in this year's competition. Despite significant plantings in the spring, even very few and small fish were enough to get to the podium today. In the four-hour round, the anglers tried mostly feeder method and matchbot, to a lesser extent stacking technique, but this time the fish stayed away from the hooks.
Bálint Varga managed to hook some smaller bream and a few more beautiful crucifers, but despite all the efforts of the majority of the starters, even an objection from Sneci was a significant challenge on this difficult track today.
Bálint Varga - Electricians SHE
"Probably this cold front, which broke in last night, makes things difficult for us, doesn't really eat fish, and there's a good strong northerly wind that shifts the fish off the shore, match rod anglers at a distance of 40 to 50 feet."
The anglers tried everything, alternating methods, lures and distances as well, but this time the track didn’t give the fish a generous hand. There were some small bream, crucian carp and tusk on the hook. The reason for the sparse catch may be that there were no pre-races this time where they would have crossed the track, and the cormorants wreaked considerable havoc on the fish stock during the winter.
Among the competitors, Bálint Varga was the most successful, he won the Carat Cup with a total capacity of 2460 grams, Csaba Bertók won in the hobby category, Linter Hunor won in the youth.
Regardless of the catch results, the following results were obtained in a competition held in pleasant weather and atmosphere:

The awards were presented to the winners by István Pászthory, Mayor of Gersekarát and Norbert Puskás, Executive Director of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations. In addition to the cup, medal and commemorative card, the most successful competitors also received a Decathlon purchase voucher this time, thanks to the naming sponsor of this year's competition series.
