It was a fishing camp full of experiences and catching fish in Vaskeresztes
This year's Vasi Vizeken fishing camp began on August 5 in Vaskeresztes, where this year the youngest applicant was 8 years old and the oldest was 16 years old, who is considered a returning, experienced camper. After the arrival on Monday morning, Executive President Norbert Puskás opened the camp and gave a briefing together with the camp leaders. The younger age group was accommodated in the rooms of the Alpesi Fogadó és Horgászturistikke Központ, while the older ones were accommodated in the tents of the covered event space.
The leader of this year's fishing camp was once again Attila Kádi, board member of the Vas County Fishing Association, who as the president of Répcelaki HE is the enthusiastic organizer of several successful children's programs. As a welcome gift, the children received a federal t-shirt with a funny inscription, in which the first group photo was immediately taken. After the technical information, the children were impatiently waiting for fishing, but before that they practiced hook tying with the active help of the camp leaders. After that, they went to lunch, and then the fishing could begin. Our camp this year started really well with pleasant summer weather and a little rain!
The young people started Tuesday with a morning tournament, but for the really enthusiastic anglers, the day started earlier, as they were already fishing at dawn. Several people applied to take the fishing test during the camp, so during the morning they prepared for the test with the help of fisher Balázs Szekeres and administrator Judit Polgárné Németh, and reviewed the curriculum. This was followed by an interesting presentation by József Mesterházy, head of the fish management group, presenting the Pinka stream and its rich wildlife. After lunch, the children went to the beach in Austria to Lake Burgi. The afternoon was spent in a good mood and cheerfully. After bathing, after returning to the camp, the fishing continued, and after dinner, the 3-member camp teams were drawn and the first competition, the rubber boot throwing competition, was held right away. The young people had an eventful day, but at the end of the day they still had enough energy to play football in the camp and go fishing at night.
The third day of the camp started again with a morning tournament, and then competition angler Tamás Németh gave a demonstration, the children could try out the technique of catching fish with a pile rod. In the meantime, the staff of vaol.hu and Vas Népe arrived, and recordings were made of the most beautiful fish catches. After that, the individual target shooting competition followed, the result of which was also included in the final team result. After the plentiful lunch, the fishing continued, and the candidates for the exam were excitedly waiting for when they could give an account of their knowledge. In the end, all campers did well in the exam, and they passed the state fishing exam. During the rest of the day, a team fishing competition was held, the common goal and competitive spirit forged the teams even closer. This day also ended with exciting experiences.
On Thursday, after breakfast - just like every day since the beginning of the camp - everyone diligently packed, cleaned and tidied up their room or tent, as the room order was scored every day, at the end of which the winner was announced. After that, the teams measured their knowledge in a theoretical competition, the result of which was also included in the teams' total score.
After the lunch, the starting places were drawn, and an afternoon individual fish-catching competition was held, which was also filmed by the Szombathely Television crew, and some interviews were also made with the small fishermen. After weighing the camp fish-catching competition, it turned out that Dániel Soós was the most skilled, he caught 15,000 grams of fish in 2 hours, thus winning the competition. A short rest, then the long-awaited announcement of the results began, where the 3-person teams and the winners of the room and tent competitions also received awards, and many could enjoy sweets and refreshments. Due to the sudden rain after dinner, the young people were forced to take shelter, but this did not discourage anyone, as the BLERO Fishing Board Game proved to be a great pastime. The rain stopped soon, the soccer ball and the fishing rods were found, everyone had a great time on their last night at camp.
Friday morning was spent packing, taking down the tent, and tidying up. No one left the ceremonial results announcement before lunch empty-handed, all participants received souvenir cards and gift packages. The best of the competitions were awarded in two categories, the young people were divided into children and youth age groups. The rankings were as follows, the best received a cup and prizes:
- CHILD CATEGORY
1. Márton Vámosi
2. István Szalay
3. Vogl Zalán
