Cuteness and excitement at the children's competition at the Sárvíz lake
Cheerful laughter, exciting moments and truly whimsical summer weather characterized Sunday's Children's Day Fishing Competition at the Sárvíz lake in Gersekarát. This year, the cuteness factor was particularly high in the field, as even kindergarteners could participate in the competition. A total of 27 children took part in this year's competition in three categories. With the cooperation of the Sárvíz Lake Fishing Association and the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, the organization of the competition went smoothly again this year.
After the opening of the chief organizer Dániel Szabó and Norbert Puskás, the executive president of the Association, the children excitedly drew lots for their fishing spots. The little ones and the older children were both enthusiastically preparing for the competition. During the friendly competition, which started at a quarter to ten, the young people skillfully caught bream and crucian carp, but some lucky anglers also managed to catch bream and big bream.
Every little angler came to the weigh-in happy, as everyone managed to catch a fish. On average, nearly 2.5 kg of fish ended up in the children's mouths during the two-hour competition, which meant hundreds of fish caught in total. During the competition, Sárvíz lake also gave the best 4-5 kg fish. Today, with the exception of a few places, the feeder method was successful, but there were also those who managed to lure the carp to the coastal zone with a pointy rod.
At the end of the competition, all participants happily received their commemorative card, chocolate, calendar and Vasi Vizeken baseball cap. Thanks to the support of MOHOSZ, the most skilled ones were also enriched with valuable fishing equipment, and they were also able to take home cups and medals from the Vas County Fishing Association. The event became a real community experience, where every little fisherman could proudly show off his catch and enjoy the joy of catching fish with his family.
The program was implemented with the support of the MOHOSZ-HUNOP Children's Day grant.
