Zoltán Frankó won the VIII. Method Feeder OB. the Abért lake semi-final
After the two official training days, the VIII. started on Friday. Abért-tavi semi-final of the Method Feeder National Championship. 40 contestants took part in the three-day competition, which took place simultaneously in three locations in the country.
Halfway through the first round, it was not easy for the pecs on Lake Abért. The appetite of the fish was quite hectic and the distribution of the fish on the course was varied, so the first round of the competition brought a lot of excitement. The field is used to many more fish than the lake gave on the first day. I don't know why, but it was much more difficult to catch fish. There can be no reason to complain, since it was possible to win a sector with catches of 45-50 kg in the C and D sectors, and in the AB sector it was also necessary to complete over 30 kg. Among the extreme places, the end of sector D was outstanding, where Péntek Dusán caught the most fish of the round with a catch of 72 kg.
VIII continued on Saturday morning. The semi-final of the Method Feeder National Championship in Abért-Tav with the second round. Perhaps it was even more difficult to hook the inhabitants of that lake than the day before. The reason was probably the capricious weather, the promised thunderstorm arrived at the end of the race, surrounded by wind, so the field will not have an easier time on the closing day either. At that time, Péter Bakó led the semi-final with 2 points with two sector singles of 105,600 grams, Zoltán Frankó followed him with 3 points, and then Péter Zádori with 4 points. So there was a prospect of an exciting final round.
Sunday's final round started with overcast rainy weather, where it was decided who made it to the finals. Each round had to be fished in different conditions. The changeable weather was also visible in the fishing, but perhaps that is why the last round was extremely close. Many fought until their nails broke to win a sector, because they knew that this was the only way they would have a chance to reach the finals. The podium points also showed that there were no crossovers in the last round.
Zoltán Frankó became the champion of the Abért-tó semi-final with 4 points, followed by two 8-point competitors on the podium. The more weight caught now favored Norbert Megyeri, who finished second, while József Papp was also able to take the third place on the podium with 8 points.
