Competition announcement

With the support of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations

2025 Vasi Vizeken Aber Lake Police Cup

We are organizing an invitational fishing competition under the name.

Competition date : Saturday , August 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m.

Competition location : Lukácsháza, Abért II. sport fishing lake

Competition format : 3-person team competition, 3 sectors with different methods:

  • The sector (starting from the parking lot) is for swimming (match, bolo, pointe, free choice)
  • Sector B (continuation of the racetrack, towards the stream) method-feeder,
  • Sector C (stream side) longline/fine rig feeder.

The teams decide who will fish in which sector using the specified method and the places within the sectors are drawn by person (a designated team leader draws everyone's number during the draw).

You cannot compete as an individual competitor.

The competition will be held in one round: between 09:00 and 14:00, 1x5 hours.

Competition schedule:

- 06.30 - 07.00. assembly, registration in the parking lot of the Fishing Lakes;

- 07.00 - 07.30. explanation of rules, draw;

- 07.30 - 08.50. seating, preparation;

- 08.50 - 09.00 feeding;

- 09.00 - 14.00 fishing;

- 2:00 p.m. end of competition, then weighing, lunch;
- 15.30. results announcement.

Deadline for entries: August 6, 2025 (due to processing of entry permits)

We can accept applications from a total of 15 teams . You can apply by filling out the application form attached to the announcement and sending it to the e-mail address knobe@vas.police.hu by the specified deadline.

Rules

Participants are required to have a state fishing license.

Only one rod is allowed at a time, with one single-barred hook. Braided line is only allowed for method-feeder fishing and as a hook leader, not as a main line (or as a casting leader).

Of course, multiple rods and tackle are allowed if prepared, but only the tip of the rod currently being used for fishing may be facing the water.

To protect the fish, the angler may not cast the other tackle until the caught fish has been placed in the net!

Feeding is only permitted by hand, slingshot or stick. The use of spombs or feeding boats is prohibited.

The competitor may not use external assistance during fishing (since the competition is somewhat friendly, assistance in catching large fish, e.g. over 8 kg, is an exception).

Bait and feed limit :

A maximum of 20 liters of bait material (mixed, pierced, ready, wet, including soil, clay, corn, seeds and all other ingredients that are harmless to the aquatic environment and vegetation, and are non-toxic) is permitted, as well as 1 liter of live bait (bone, pinkie, earthworm).

The use of mosquito larvae is FORBIDDEN!!

Competitors are required to keep their fish alive, therefore they must use a minimum of 2 fish nets with a minimum of 3 meters of rings, and a carp mattress or cradle is mandatory . A maximum of 20 kg. of fish can be kept per net!!!

Valid fish: peaceful fish (carp, grass carp, crucian carp, bream) and dwarf catfish .

Predatory fish are not valid in the competition , they must be released immediately after being caught!

Bream and crucian carp must be kept in separate nets.

Carp - grass carp can be kept in one net, but a maximum of 20 kg in one fish tank, therefore (due to possible catches of 50-60+ kg) several nets should be prepared. Dwarf catfish should be kept in a separate bucket until weighed.

If there are more than 20 kg of fish in a bag when weighed, only 20 kg will be counted.

We do not plan to weigh in during the competition (due to the competition-destroying effect of releasing the fish), therefore the fish holder must be placed in the water at the greatest possible length, and here too we ask that the maximum weight per rod be kept to 20 kg.

Large fish over 8 kg must be placed in a carp bag, one fish can be kept in a carp bag.

Fish must be removed from the hook gently, using a hook releaser if necessary. Fish that die during the competition will not be weighed and will not count towards the result.

Special rules for methods

The sector, floating method:

The competitor may fish only with float equipment, using any method of his/her choice (match, bolo, tip, jig), with a single-barred hook. The method may be changed during the competition.

Main rules: - for a ring rod, the maximum float size is 16 gr.,

  • the weight of the weight (lead) required to balance the float must not exceed the float's carrying capacity ,
  • The main lead must not touch the bottom of the river , and no more than 10 percent of the total weighting may be on the bottom of the river , but only in such a way that it does not impede the natural, free movement of the float or the rig.

Sector B, method-feeder method (probably obvious, but a few thoughts from the MOHOSZ freestyle-method competition rules, slightly modified for this competition) :

The main types of baskets allowed during fishing are: any commercially available or handmade metal-plastic cylindrical, parallelepipedic, filling-top, flat-bottomed, method basket. In addition to the feeding basket, an in-line design, so-called bomb feeder fishing rod, can also be used during fishing. The baskets can be filled with a filling tool or by hand. The use of ribbed baskets for both feeding and fishing is allowed in this competition.

However, the use of in-line open end baskets is prohibited. Stuffing the hook head into the bait is permitted. The smallest usable bait basket and fishing line weight is 15 grams, the maximum length of the bait basket is 7 cm, the maximum width or diameter is 5 cm (only taking into account the area suitable for receiving the bait.)

The main line must run through the basket containing the bait (or pellets, etc.), the basket cannot be hit on top, and the basket must slide freely and unhindered throughout the rig.

Braided line can only be used as a hook leader, not as a main line/casting leader.

Sector C, “long-blade” feeder method:

The feeder basket or any device that attaches it must slide freely along the entire length of the main line , and no fixed, anti-slip or slow-moving rigs may be used. A fixed rig is permitted on a rod used exclusively for feeding, but it is prohibited to attach a hook to this rig.

The use of the method-feeder technique is prohibited, meaning the main line must not run through the basket containing the bait or soil.

The feeder basket can only be attached to the main line from the side and can only slide freely . Threading the hook leader through the basket, tying it to it or stuffing it with bait is not permitted in any way.

The largest permitted feeder basket size is: length 7 cm, diameter 5 cm , minimum size: length 1.5 cm, width: 1.5 cm. During the priming feeding and the competition, only the so-called “open-end” (i.e. feeder basket open at the bottom and top) and “block end” (i.e. closed at the bottom or even at the top and bottom, such as well-known bone baskets, window type baskets) baskets can be used. The basket must be cylindrical in shape (round or polygonal). The use of any other shape basket (drop, flat, method, ribbed, etc.) is prohibited. During fishing, the basket can be used both filled with bait/live bait and empty.

The length of the hooklink is at least 50 cm , measured from the bottom of the basket folded to the line. The use of braided line is not permitted as either the hooklink or the main line.

Competition evaluation:

After the results of the sector are summed up, the final ranking within the sector is formed, and then the team rankings are determined based on this. The team receives I-III material prizes (cups).

About the water: all information about the lake and its accessibility is available on the website at http://www.vasihorgasz.hu/vizek/lukacshaza_abertII_to.htm . Typical fish are bream, crucian carp, carp, grass carp, perch, and occasionally dwarf catfish. The organizer will provide information and is available for any other questions related to the competition.

(Horgaszjegy.hu / Open Lake I. and II. sports day ticket 2,700. HUF).
