Csánigi mining pond
ShareThe lake area was formed by gravel extraction in the 1980s. The lake receives its water through a layer of gravel from the Kőris stream and from the underground water supply. Its coast is surrounded by reeds all around, and there are several established fishing lodges, which are cared for and maintained by local fishermen. In many places, the reeds almost fall over the water, which is considered a good area for fish. There is a narrow strip of trees behind the coast, which mark the ideal fishing spots on hot summer days.
The varied conditions of the riverbed reflect the traces of gravel mining. The average depth of the lake is 2.5 m, with a water depth of 1 meter, but depths of five meters are not uncommon either. There is a very nice population of perch in the lake.
