Rába-Nick region
ShareThe dam at village Nick (with a difficult pronunciation) is in its current location since 1932, and has been overhauled several times, which has an effect on approximately 4 more kilometres of the river. Above the dam, it has a depth of 3 metres, but 2 metres at the first fishing spots. The coast breaks down in an angle of 45 degrees, and slowly deepens towards the middle of the riverbed, which is diversified by mud and smaller holes.
It is the place for bottom fishing/ledgering, where boat fishing techniques have a strong presence. Further above, after the pier, leaving the junction of the Small-Rába, facing a wide, plain area, we find the estuary, surrounded by reeds. On this side, there is a treeline. Stumps, rocks and drifts in this area are becoming more frequent. The view is natural and classic, where Rába reaches depths of 5-7 metres. There are conducted fishing spots, almost booths, where it is ideal to try bottom fishing.
