Lake Rábasömjen

Of the lake units consisting of several units next to the main road 84, only 2 lakes are considered fishing water today. The other lakes have been swampy for more than 20 years. The lakes are parallel to the road to which the gravel was extracted from here.

A narrow forest strip separates the lake from the road. On the opposite side of the highway, the shores of the lake are strongly articulated and several bays diversify the water. There is significant aquatic vegetation and trees on the waterfront.

The water in the lakes comes from the groundwater supply. The riverbed is uneven, the water depth varies between 1 and 4 meters, and suddenly deepens after the 1-2 meter coastal strip. The bottom of the lake is mostly muddy, to a lesser extent gravelly. Next to both lakes are swampy areas overgrown with aquatic vegetation. Mining has long since ceased, so the nature of the lake no longer has the characteristics of a mining lake.

From the fish fauna of the lake, anglers will get the most out of the bream, carp and pike that are planted. In catch statistics, even perch and grass carp occur in significant quantities, but there are also golden carp and compo in the lake. The fish in the pond are growing fast.

For the regular approach of our fishing lake in Rábasömjen, please use the municipal road shown in the picture - in yellow. The previously very poor quality of the municipal road has recently been renewed so that it can be used without any problems for everyone.
We respectfully ask you not to use the - earlier - recovery option from the main road 84, as it will also be a private property and construction site.
