VII. National Professional Fishing Competition and Meeting
September 4-6. in Szarvas, the VII. National Professional Fishing Competition and Meeting, organized this year by the Ráckeve Danube Angling Association (RDHSZ). The event became an important professional milestone for fish keepers, as 28 three-person teams delegated by member organizations of the Hungarian National Fishing Association (MOHOSZ) compared their skills in various theoretical and practical competitions. In addition to presenting challenging professional tasks to the participants, the competition also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and establish new relationships.
The first day of the event began with professional lectures and theoretical competitions, where renowned specialists such as Colonel Ernő Krauzer drew attention to the communication rules of fish guards during their duty in his presentation entitled "Law enforcement communication" . In addition, a number of technical devices, such as binoculars, wildlife cameras, thermal cameras and small service boats, which help the fish wardens in their daily work, were also presented. The lectures also talked about the dangers of water and their management.
The second day presented real challenges to the competitors. They had to prove their expertise during situational exercises: they used thermal cameras to observe fishermen breaking the rules on the other side, and then during a law enforcement task they detained violators until the police arrived. All this was observed and evaluated by a judge. The practical tasks put the teams to the test in particular, as the situations became more and more difficult and required quick situational recognition and effective action.
On the last day of the competition, fitness tasks played a major role, where the fish keepers also tested their physical endurance. For example, they had to drain 200 liters of water as quickly as possible from a fishing boat, and they also organized a 100-meter relay race, which made all team members work hard.
Based on the overall results, the team of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Association of Fishing Associations was able to stand on the top step of the podium, the second place went to the team of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Association, while the third place was taken by the Association of Anglers Associations of Körösvidék.
The iron team, consisting of Dániel Szabó, Róbert Pass and Tamás Karácsonyi, finished in 25th place. Although they did not manage to stand on the podium, their dedicated work and sportsmanship remained exemplary, for which they deserve all the credit.
The competition created an opportunity not only for the professional development of the fish keepers, but also for the establishment of friendly relations, strengthening the cohesion of the community. This year's event was not only about competition, but also about celebrating dedication and cooperation.
Congratulations to the winners and all participants for their outstanding performance!
