Depending on weather conditions and the supply of fish farmers, fish stocking began on Wednesday, February 25, in the water areas managed by the Association.

As a start, 305 kg (about 1000 pieces), mostly one-year-old perch, were planted, which our Association acquired from Halászmester KFT. in Szombathely, in the following water areas:

Szombathely Boating Lake: 105 kg
Újperinti I. gravel pit lake: 50 kg
Půspökmolnár gravel pit lake: 50 kg
Magyarszecsőd gravel pit lake: 100 kg

We would like to draw the attention of T. Fishing friends that the prohibited period for perch lasts from March 2 to April 30, and its size limit is at least 30 cm, of which 2 can be kept!

However, most of the sticklebacks, which are below the catchable size, can be seen as a serious catch by our anglers in late autumn and next year, if they are treated with care.

Based on the purchasing possibilities, we are planning to stock additional predatory and whitefish, however, in gratitude for the trust of the carp anglers who have purchased a regional ticket, we are expecting approximately 100 tons of catchable carp to enter our waters in the first week of March, expected on Friday, the 6th, from Tógazda Halászati ZRT.

Part of the planned carp stocking, approximately 40 tons, will be implemented with the support of the Hungarian National Angling Association's Stock Replacement and Development Target Appropriation (ÁPFE-VII-4/2025), a project entitled "stocking and reintroduction of standard and preferred native fish species".

In addition, also next week (according to our plans, on Thursday, the 5th) we would like to strengthen the native fish population of the Döröskei Reservoir with 600 kg of Balaton carp and 500 kg of bream delivered by the Balaton Fish Management Nonprofit ZRT. Together with the shipment, 500 kg of bream will be sent to Lake Magyarszecsőd, and 900 kg of scaly carp will be sent to the Rába River and the Ikervár power plant canal. We will report in detail on the implemented installations.
