The specific prohibition period for the two fish species has been lifted

Our association's primary goal is to continuously adapt the conditions of fishing to the needs of fellow anglers, while also keeping in mind the protection of fish stocks in natural waters. In this spirit, we are informing anglers about the changes and opportunities related to specific prohibition periods for this year.

We are pleased to inform our fellow anglers who have purchased a territorial ticket for our Association's waters that, at the request of our Association, based on the decisions of the Vas and Zala County Fisheries Authority, in 2026 as well:

The specific ban on carp (May 4th – May 29th this year) has been lifted on all federally managed standing and flowing waters in Vas County (including the entire Vas County section of the Rába River and the power plant canals, as well as Hársas and Vadása lakes), on the Kerkafalva Kéthátar Lake and the Kerka Lake in Kerkaszentkirály, and on the Döröskei Reservoir under Mohosz management!
The specific ban on catfish (May 4th – June 15th this year) has been lifted in all Federally managed standing and flowing waters of Vas County (including the entire Vas County section of the Rába River and the power plant canals), on the Kerkafalva Kéhatár Lake and the Kerka Lake in Kerkaszentkirály , so based on the decision of our Federation, catfish longer than 100 cm can be caught and kept – according to the previously valid legal provisions !

With the regulation, we would like to benefit our sportsmen who are committed to fishing for large carp and catfish, and to promote the protection of native fish stocks by catching large catfish, primarily in still waters.

We would like to point out that lifting the ban is only an option and does not exempt anglers from the prohibition of direct disturbance of spawning fish and from the application of humane treatment.

The above lifting of the ban does not apply to C&R water areas (Lake Abért I-II, Lake Répcelak, Lake Pinkamindszenti, Lake Celldömölk Park, Lake Alpesi)!

We would like to draw the attention of T. Fishing friends to the lower (min. 30 cm) and upper (max. 60 cm) size restrictions (in the case of catfish, min. 100 cm during the closed season), as well as the weekly (6 noble fish) and daily (2 carp) size restrictions set out in the law and the fishing regulations, which regulations differ from the National Fishing Regulations!

According to the current fishing regulations on the Kerkafalva Kéthatár Lake, "it is FORBIDDEN to keep carp larger than 50 cm measured from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail or larger than 5 kg!"

In addition, we ask all anglers to immediately and accurately record the carp they catch in their catch log, as a 0.5 kg discrepancy or failure to comply with the size restrictions may result in the territorial ticket being withheld!

Our association works together with the associations to offer every angler a joyful recreation and wonderful fishing experiences on the Vasi Vizes!

We hope that in 2026 they will continue to choose our waters and our community!

The possibility of personal administration (e.g. ticket exchange, fishing card application, etc.) at the Association's customer service office in Vaskerestes is available by prior appointment from January 6, 2026.
