The Répcelak City Miners and Anglers Association held a general meeting over the weekend
The annual general meeting of the Répcelak City Miner Fishing Association took place on January 19, 2025, in the small hall of the Répcelak Cultural Center, where 22 members participated. The mayor of Répcelak City, József Szabó, was present at the event, and in his welcoming speech, he highlighted the exemplary activity of the association and the local anglers. He emphasized that the municipality continues to support the work of the association, especially in organizing the 50th anniversary this year.
Norbert Puskás, the executive chairman of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, was also present at the meeting. In his speech, he thanked the association's leaders and volunteers for their dedicated work for the fishing community. He emphasized that, similarly to previous years, the association supports the maintenance work and youth programs carried out on the fishing waters in the Répcelak area. He particularly praised the "fishing-friendly" attitude of the town of Répcelak, which has been helping the fishing efforts of the association and the association for years through their support. One of the outstanding results of the joint work is the development of the small sport fishing lake in Répcelak, which is a popular fishing lake for locals and provides many young people and adults with a recreation opportunity close to the city.
At the general meeting, reports were given on the activities, financial situation and regular operation of the association in 2024, which were monitored by the supervisory board. In addition, the disciplinary committee highlighted the discipline and sporting attitude of the majority of the members, which was also confirmed by the fishing guard Tamás Karácsonyi . During the meeting, all agenda items were accepted and the planning of the association's 50th anniversary programs was briefly discussed, for which members' proposals are still awaited during the winter. Norbert Puskás and Attila Kádi, presidents of the local association, presented in detail the latest county rule changes affecting anglers, drawing special attention to the regulations valid on the section of the Rába River below the Nicki dam. The event ended in a good mood, and everyone is committed to maintaining the active fishing life in the Répcelak area.
