The Kőszeg Sport Fishing Association celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday
Kőszeg's largest association with over 500 members commemorated its beginnings, its establishment 50 years ago, with a festive general meeting. The venue of the event was a tent set up near the fishing pond next to Lake Csónakázó, established 5 years after the foundation of the association, under which the fishermen of the old days, the helpers and supporters of the past decades, the volunteers of the association and the representatives of the county and national fishing associations appeared. .
In addition to the festive greeting to the membership, President Ferenc Horváth presented the publication entitled "Évpergetők" prepared for the anniversary, which presents the history of the association's five decades and two years in detail.
On behalf of the Kőszeg City Municipality, Mayor Béla Básthy praised the cooperation between the city and the association, thanks to which several developments (toilet, playground, parking lots, access road) have been implemented or are being prepared at Csónakázó lake in Kőszeg.
In addition to the Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Kőszeg, the mayor also presented the jubilee certificate of the County Public Assembly Chairman László Majthényi to President Ferenc Horváth.
On behalf of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, president Miklós Seregi and executive president Norbert Puskás, vice-president of the Hungarian National Fishing Association - MOHOSZ, praised the exemplary and outstanding work of the Kőszeg anglers both in the county and national comparison.
Of course, after the presentation of certificates and gifts and the book presentation, we couldn't miss the joint consumption of Kőszeg fish soup and stew, and then the jubilee 3 x 5-hour fishing competition began.
We congratulate the 50-year-old fishing association on its tireless work in building community and taking care of our two lakes in Kőszeg, for which we wish you a lot of strength in the future!
