Fishing is also possible during curfew restrictions

From March 28, 2020, the Government will introduce curfews throughout Hungary. The official government decree can be found here.

In our current view, individual fishing (fishing at least 5 meters apart in federal waters, except in the common household) is still possible due to the following provision in the Government Decree:

"§ 5 Individual leisure sports activities, outdoor pedestrian traffic in the open air and in the inner part of the settlements, preferably in green spaces, may be carried on alone or in the same household, with a minimum distance of 1.5 meters."

MOHOSZ recommends that
- fishing companions over the age of 65 should cease traveling fishing during the curfew period, but may also engage in local fishing, subject to epidemiological regulations and restrictions.
- having a territorial pool (multi-national), which is valid for several water bodies, the fishing companions should visit the closest fishing water to their place of residence.
