On Friday, he found 3,000 pre-bred lichens for a new home
We would like to inform the fellow fishermen that 3,000 pre-farmed lingens were placed in several locations on the Vas County section of the Rába River on Friday.
Ling is one of the most valuable and special species in our domestic fish fauna. He is the only domestic representative of his family, the cod, which live mainly in the seas. It occurs less frequently in lakes. Its flesh is excellent, fibrous, and its liver is large and close in taste to that of goose liver.
Unlike the well-known carp, which stalls in winter, this fish is very active even in the coldest times. This is also shown by the fact that it reproduces in winter at the water temperature of 2-5 oC during the longest nights.
The lichen hides among the stones or in the cavities of the shore, reaching a size of up to 40-50 cm. Anglers will appreciate the ling catch, and its winter fishing is quite a special experience.
Let's take care of each other and the new inhabitants of the river Rába!
Thanks to the participants for their help!
