Nearly 40 tons of carp and river fish are also arriving

Just a few days ago, 110 tons of fish arrived in the Vasi Vizek, but there is no stopping! The stocking will continue next week. On the occasion of World Water Day and Fish Day, another significant amount of native fish will arrive in our waters, so anglers are looking forward to an exciting time.

The series of stocking operations will continue on March 16, when 250 kg of carp will be placed in the Mersevát section of the Marcal River, and 150 kg of carp will be placed in the section around the Kis-Rába nicki dam.

On March 18, we will celebrate World Water Day together with the West Transdanubian Water Directorate on the shores of the Boating Lake in Szombathely, where, continuing the traditions of previous years, we will welcome organized school groups for playful, educational programs so that young people can get to know the wildlife of our waters better. One of the most spectacular elements of the program will be the fish stocking, which is expected to take place between 10:30 and 11:00. On this day, 500 kg of carp will be placed in the morning in the Újperinti Gravel Pit Lake No. I, 500 kg in the Szombathely Boating Lake, 300 kg in the Szombathely Fishing Lake and 200 kg in the Gencsapati Fishing Lake. Children visiting the Szombathely Boating Lake and the Szombathely Fishing Lake can also participate in the planting, and anyone who happens to be there can easily watch and be part of the spectacular fish planting.

On Friday, March 20, on Fish Day, Halászmester KFT. will once again deliver a total of 500 kg of carp, mostly with scales, to the Vaskeresztes, Horvátlövő and Szentpéterfa sections of the Pinka stream, as well as to the Pinka backwater in Vaskeresztes.

In accordance with the traditions of previous years, we will not forget about strengthening the river fish population: with the cooperation of Megafish Kft. from Baja, we will be introducing rheophilic fish to several sections of the Rába River. The program will end with a spectacular event at the Nicki dam, where visiting children and their companions – together with the Vas County and Győr-Moson-Sopron County Fishing Associations – can help in releasing the fish. 120 kg of II. summer bream and 3000 juvenile mullet will be released to the Rába section in Vas County, so visiting children can also get acquainted with real native river fish.

We look forward to welcoming children and their parents to the river fish planting event organized on the occasion of Fish Day on March 20th at 2:00 PM at Nicken.

The spring stocking program reaches another significant milestone on March 30, when 1,500 kg of market carp will be placed in three popular fishing waters: 500 kg in Lake Csónakázó in Szombathely, 500 kg in Lake Kavicsbánya in Magyarszecsőd, and 500 kg in Lake Hársas in Máriaújfalu. The quantities stocked may of course vary depending on the results of the catches and the capacity of the transport vehicles, and we will report on the stocking operations in detail.
