Friendly fishing competition in the spirit of integration
The weather was favorable for the participants of the integrated fishing afternoon on Wednesday afternoon. They gathered on the shore of Csónakázó Lake in bright sunshine: several greeted each other as familiar couples, but new competitors also arrived. The integrated fishing afternoon has been realized for the sixth time in cooperation with the Vas Vármegyei ÉFOÉSZ Association and the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations.
In each of the 14 teams, one experienced angler worked together with two disabled competitors. This time, participation was really the most important thing, not victory, but the best teams were rewarded with a cup and a shopping voucher.
Executive President Norbert Puskás greeted the participants on behalf of the fishermen and explained the rules. He emphasized: the main goal is for everyone to have a good time and learn about fishing. During the competition, the organizers even provided snacks. Klára Németh, president of ÉFOÉSZ, said that it is a popular and much-anticipated program among young people, which also serves a noble purpose.
As befits a real fishing competition, the program began with a bagpipe and ended with a weigh-in. In the beautiful autumn weather, the fishermen mainly caught bream and bream, but the team of István Fördős, Réka Molnár and András Frank also successfully caught a nice carp. During the two-hour competition, a total catch of 1,720 grams was achieved with the MOHOSZ tip rod provided by the Association.
The team of Edina Bozzay and Kristóf Mártonfi, who started together with sport angler Attila Vámos , took second place with a catch of 1,140 grams, who mainly caught small groupers. The bronze medal of the friendly competition was won by Zsolt Viszket and Tímea Mészáros, who started with competition angler Roland Balázs, with a total catch of 1060 grams.
The announcement of the results had exciting moments, where all teams could proudly receive their awards and recognitions. The special feature of the competition was that Miklós Gábor Horváth celebrated his 40th birthday on the same day. The organizers and the participants jointly wished him a happy birthday, and then Norbert Puskás, representing the Association, presented him with a beginner's fishing equipment and a "vase vizeken" package even before the results were announced.
The first three teams stood out for their achievements in the competition, but all participants were praised for their cooperation and togetherness. The organizers hope that this tradition will continue and that even more communities can enjoy the joy of fishing. True to the traditions of previous years, the program ended with a joint group photo.
