Double success in Békés-Dánfok!
Yesterday we had a truly memorable day at the 7th Békés County Hunting and Fishing Day and the 10th Körös-völgyi Fish Soup and Fish Dish Making Competition, where our Association also represented Vas County. We are very happy and proud to share that our cooking team won the category with both of the entered dishes!
The winner of the "Other Fish Soup" category was Rábai fish soup, prepared by fishing guard Tamás Karácsonyi.
The winner of the "Other Fish Dish" category is our Vice President László Laki's special dish, trout in flavorful breadcrumbs with pumpkin seed potato salad.
Nearly twenty cooking teams entered the competition with almost thirty dishes, so the achieved result is particularly valuable for us. The MOHOSZ team was also represented at the event, which further raised the status of the event.
The jury, which included the president of our Association, Miklós Seregi , evaluated the competition dishes for nearly an hour. There were many special “creations” among them, including a dessert made from rabbitfish roe, but also fish and mango tacos were served.
Besides the prizes, perhaps even more important was the community experience we brought with us from Békés. Our cooks unanimously reported that the participants were welcomed by excellent organization, unparalleled hospitality and a great atmosphere. Although the weather tested the teams a few times, not even the rain could spoil the day. The participants went between the cooking sites all day long, offering each other food, drinks, good words and friendship.
It was a special pleasure to see that the love of nature brought fishermen and hunters together again, while teams from many parts of the country celebrated our traditions and gastronomic values together.
President Miklós Seregi highlighted the exemplary cooperation between the local hunting chamber and the fishing association, which is based on mutual partnership, both professionally and personally. He added that such a relationship and harmony could be an example to be followed throughout the country.

The excellent organization, hospitality, family atmosphere, and shared commitment to nature once again proved that the Békés-Dánfok meeting has deservedly become one of the country's most significant fishing and hunting community events.
