In the month of August, a fishing competition is held several times throughout the county. During the events, full or partial fishing bans will be in effect for anglers who have not entered the competition. Please always check the current restrictions before you go fishing. In addition to our website, we publish the bans on our Facebook page and, if possible, on the lakeside notice boards. The Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations orders a fishing ban at the following locations and times in August:
On August 4, 2024 (Sunday) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., there will be temporary bans on the Szombathely Boating Lake due to the competitions of the Dragon Boat Festival. There is no ban on the fishing pond, so you can fish there without any disturbance.
On August 4, 2024 (Saturday), from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect on Lake Újperint I due to a fishing competition.
On August 4, 2024 (Sunday), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., there is a general fishing ban on Lake Magyarszecsőd due to a canoe competition on the Magyarszecsőd side of the lake, up to the peninsula in the middle of the lake.
The youth fishing camp organized by the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations will start on Monday, August 5, 2024 in Vaskeresztes. For a significant part of the time of the camp, which lasts until Friday, the participating children will fish on the Alpine fishing lake and, if given the opportunity, on the Pinka backwater in Vaskereszetes. Due to the large number of people, the available free fishing spots in the mentioned water areas are limited between August 5, 2024 and August 9, 2024.
On August 10, 2024 (Saturday) from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect on Lake Vasvári due to an association fishing competition.
On August 10, 2024 (Saturday) from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect at Lake Magyarszecsődi due to an association fishing competition.
On August 19 (Monday) and August 20 (Tuesday), 2024, the IX. Due to the training sessions for the semi-finals of the Freestyle Method Feeder National Championship, there will be a partial fishing ban for anglers not entered for the competition. On these two days, fishing is only allowed on the dam between the two lakes!
August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) from 6:00 a.m. to August 25 (Sunday) 4:00 p.m. on the Abért II lake in the IX. Due to the semi-finals of the Freestyle Method Feeder National Championship, there will be a general ban for anglers not named to the competition.
From the afternoon of August 23, 2024 (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. to the morning of August 24 (Saturday) at 8:00 a.m., there will be a general ban on the Kerka fishing lake in Kerkaszentkirály due to a fishing competition for anglers who have not entered the competition.
On August 24, 2024 (Saturday) from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect on Lake Vasvári due to a fishing competition.
On August 24, 2024 (Saturday), a general fishing ban will be in effect on certain sections of the coast at Lake Celldömölk due to a municipal event.
On August 25, 2024 (Sunday) from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect on Lake Répcelaki due to a children's fishing competition.
On August 31, 2024 (Saturday), from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect at Csepreg Téglagyári Lake due to a fishing competition.
