Last Thursday, the Board of Representatives of Döröske Local Government held its traditional annual public hearing, during which Mayor Erika Dománé Tóth gave information about the events and developments of the settlement. As part of the official program held on December 7, 2023, a report was also given in the cultural center about the public safety situation of the settlement, and Norbert Puskás, as the vice president of MOHOSZ, reported on the current events of the Döröskei reservoir. At the beginning of the presentation, he introduced in detail the Hungarian National Fishing Association and the regionally competent Sport Fishing Associations of Vas County to those present.

Since October 6, 2021, the lake has been managed by MOHOSZ, which organization is Hungary's largest non-governmental organization performing public tasks, currently with more than 850,000 registered anglers, of which nearly 600,000 people are actively fishing. There are 2,218 registered fish management water areas in our country, of which the vast majority of state or majority state-owned natural water areas, a total of 134,673 hectares, belong to the MOHOSZ organizational system. In addition to its numerous activities, the national organization has carried out the renovation of the basic infrastructure of Lake Döröskei in the past two years from its own resources and the MAHOP-1.2.1-2017-2019-00013 awarded for the reservoir. as the new owner of the project.
As a result of the work carried out so far, the lake received a water rights operation license for the next 20 years this year, and as a second milestone, the lake's fish management plan was completed, which was approved by the authorities until December 31, 2027. In the past period, in accordance with the fish management plan, the first new "inhabitants" of the lake arrived, a total of 468 kg of extra carp between 4-5 kg, as well as 500 kg of selected bream in the month of November.

Norbert Puskás said that the fishing will continue as planned, and he emphasized that the works and licensing procedures carried out in the last two years were less spectacular, but from the point of view of the future complex utilization of the lake, basic conditions have been created that have not been met for decades. MOHOSZ, as a fish management authority, wants to use the Döröske reservoir primarily as a C&R (catch and release) sport fishing lake from next spring, using the available shorelines, so that the water area can be re-entered into the fishing tourism cycle. Plans include the renovation of the dilapidated beach and tourist buildings next to the lake, which will only be possible if state and EU funds are available. MOHOSZ is currently working on the "National Fishing Tourism Strategy 2030." get government approval and, similar to the plans in Döröske, a fishing tourism development program can be launched in several areas in Hungary. Finally, Norbert Puskás thanked everyone who has helped the organization's work so far and expects the support of the locals in the future.
