After the trout, small bream arrived
On Friday morning, the new inhabitants of our waters were counted and packed in double plastic bags blown with oxygen at the site of the Balatoni Halgazdokászki Nonprofit Zrt. near Öreglak-Buzsák. The pre-grown, 3-5 cm balins were gently planted in several dammed and less turbulent sections of the Rába River.
The balin, or predatory deer as it was called in its old name, the so-called river and stagnant waters. it is an intermediate predator, it has no real teeth, but it "grinds" its prey, which most often comes out of the entrails, with its pharyngeal teeth. It is a favorite target fish for spinners and fly fishermen, as even tiring even the not-so-large specimens puts the angler and his equipment to the test.
The stocked small whales feed primarily on animal plankton, lower crustaceans, and arthropods, and then approx. When they reach a size of 15-20 cm, they switch to eating mainly vertebrate species.
We ask fellow anglers T. to be careful when fishing, as the small growth balin is often confused with the chub, but its anal fin is convex, its scales are larger, and especially its claws, but its mouth is smaller, it does not reach below the eyes and also its scales are larger.
