8,000 pre-grown balins were installed
On Friday morning, the new inhabitants of our waters were settled and packed in oxygen-blown double plastic bags at the premises of Balatoni Halgazdálkodási Nonprofit Zrt. Near Öreglak. The gentle installation of the pre-bred, 4-5 cm balines took place on several dammed and less winding sections of the Rába River, and on the Szombathely Boating and Fishing Lake with the help of our professional fishermen.
The Balinese, or predator of your old name, the so-called river and our stagnant waters. he has no intermediate predator, no real teeth, but he “grinds” his prey, which most often comes out of the thresholds, with his throat teeth. It is a popular target fish for spinning and fly fishing, as even the wear of not too large specimens puts the angler and his equipment to the test.
The established small balines feed mainly on animal plankton, lower crustaceans and arthropods, and then on approx. Reaching a size of 15-20 cm, they switch to consuming mainly vertebrate species.
We ask T. Fellow Fishermen to exercise caution when fishing, as the small growth of balin is often mixed with the scallop, but its mouth is smaller, does not touch under the eyes, and its scales are also larger.
Let's take care of the new inhabitants of our waters together!
