In the month of July, a fishing competition is held several times throughout the county. During the events, full or partial fishing bans will be in effect for anglers who have not entered the competition. Please always check the current restrictions before you go fishing. In addition to our website, we publish the bans on our Facebook page and, if possible, on the lakeside notice boards.

The Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations orders a fishing ban at the following locations and times in July:

On July 8, 2023 (Saturday) from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., due to the fishing competitions held as part of the Pinka Valley Fish Day, there will be a general ban for anglers who have not entered the competition in the following water areas:

Vaskeresztes Pinka backwater

Vaskeresztes Municipal Lake

Vaskeresztes Alpine Fishing Lake

On July 8, 2023 (Saturday) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., there will be a general fishing ban on the Szombathely Csónakázó lake due to the Vasi Vasember triathlon competition! We ask fellow anglers not to obstruct the construction of the course necessary for the swimming pool on the given sections of the coast with their fishing activities on the day before the competition (Friday, July 7).

July 15, 2023 (Saturday) from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. there will be a general ban on the Vasvári Csónázázó lake due to an association fishing competition for anglers who have not entered the competition.
On July 15, 2023 (Saturday), due to an association fishing competition on Lake Répcelaki, there will be a complete ban from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while on July 16 (Sunday) there will be a partial ban for anglers who have not entered the competition on the designated section of the coast.

On July 16, 2023 (Sunday) from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there will be a general ban for anglers not registered for the competition due to a fishing competition on the Lukácsháza side of Lake Abért II and the Gyöngyös stream.

On July 22, 2023 (Saturday), there will be temporary bans on the Szombathely Boating Lake due to the competitions of the Dragon Boat Festival. There is no ban on the fishing pond, so you can fish there without any disturbance.

On July 22, 2023 (Saturday), from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., there will be a general ban for anglers who have not entered the competition due to a fishing competition on the Lukácsháza side of Lake Abért II and the Gyöngyös stream.

July 26, 2023 (Wednesday) from 6:00 a.m. to July 30 (Sunday) 5:00 p.m. on the Abért II lake in VIII. Due to the semi-finals of the Method Feeder National Championship, there will be a general ban for anglers not named to the competition.
