20,000 pre-bred tench migrated to the Iron Waters
On August 02, 2019, the Association of Sport Fishing Associations placed 20,000 composted 2-3 cm compots in several fishing waters of the county.
During the installation, the following fish were brought into the following fishing waters:
- River Marcal: 8,000 pcs
- Lake Nagypirit: 3,000 pcs
- Lake Mersevati: 4,000 pcs
- Lake Celldömölk: 2,000 pcs
- Lake Vasvár: 3,000 pcs
The compo is our native fish, which is very popular. Its color is varied, ranging from iridescent green to golden gold to almost black, with large, rounded swimmers.
According to popular belief, she is a fish doctor because she is suspected of rubbing her wounds on sick mucus. Not nutritionally selective, omnivorous foods include planktonic and benthic animals, plant seeds and shoots, and decomposing organic matter.
Otto Herman perfectly conveyed his habitat requirement in words: "Mucilage-like marshmallows are best grown in lakes and swamps; he loves the quiet, muddy bottom water ... '' Our indigenous fish species, which is a rarity nowadays, has been protected for a few years by a size ban.
In Federal waters, the minimum size of a compo is 30 cm, with a maximum of 2 per day. The individual size limit also promotes the reproduction of mature specimens older than 2-4 years.
The fish of the year 2016 won the title of the Hungarian Haltani Society.
