10,000 pre-grown compos moved to Vas County
On July 24, 2020, the Vas County Association of Sport Angling Associations placed 10,000 pre-grown compotes between 2-3 cm in several waters of the county.
Compo is our native fish, which is very popular. Its color is varied, ranging from iridescent green to hour gold to almost black, its floats are large, rounded. According to popular belief, he is a doctor of fish, as he is presumed to rub their wounds against the slimy body of sick fish.
It is not picky in terms of its diet, and its diet includes planktonic and benthic animals, plant seeds and shoots, as well as decomposing organic matter. His need for habitat was perfectly poured into the words by Herman Ottó: “The slimy czompó grows mostly in lakes and swamps; loves the quiet, muddy bottom water ... ''
Our indigenous fish species, which is now a rarity, have been protected for some years by a ban in addition to size restrictions. In Federal waters, the minimum size of a compo that can be kept is 30 cm and a maximum of 2 per day can be kept. Individual size limitation also promotes reproductive potential for mature specimens older than 2-4 years.
He also won the title of Fish of the Year in 2016 at the vote of the Hungarian Society of Haltology.

- Lake Nagypiriti: 2000 pcs
- Lake Mersevát: 2000 pcs
- Lake Celldömölk: 2000 pcs
