Fishing Association Csestreg
ShareThe Csesztreg lake is located in Zala county, in the north direction from the village of Csesztreg, at the border of the settlement. The size of the water area is 3.9130 hectares.
The water area is owned by the Csesztreg Municipality (8973 Csesztreg, Dózsa György u. 2.), while the right to fish management is the Csesztreg Fishing Association (8973 Csesztreg, Petőfi u. 2.)
Presentation of the water area and its surroundings:
The lake is supplied with water from the Kerka stream, with which it is connected by a sluice system, so the water supply is continuous. The water depth varies between 1 and 4 meters. The water level of the lake can be said to be constant.
The lake is called it is of mixed use, since it functions as both a fishing pond and a beach. On the western side of the lake there is a free beach demarcated by buoys, where it is possible to go to the beach in the summer. There is a landscaped lawn area between the western shore of the lake and the Sports Center, where there are benches and tables, as well as a built-in fire pit.
The fish population of the lake:
After the creation of the lake, the fish species that make up the Kerka's fish stock (mullet, bream, red-winged bream, bream, bream) appeared in the water for the first time. These fish species have reproduced successfully, so they currently have a relatively stable population in the water.
In the 2000s, 2- and 3-year-old carp, Balaton mixed bream, 2- and 3-year-old bream and 1- and 2-year-old perch and pike were planted in the lake.
Currently, about 1,500 kg of carp and 100 kg of predatory fish are planted in the lake every year. This is done over several occasions (spring, summer, autumn) in order to ensure continuous fishing opportunities and to avoid periods of extreme fish shortage.
The fish species that make up the current fish stock of Lake Csesztregi are carp, grass carp, perch, pike, bream, bream, red-winged bream, silver bream, bream.
