Zoltán Török and Spartacus HE. Vas County Champion!

The GARBOLINO-TACKLEBAIT Vas County Individual and Team Championship has come to an end on Lake Abért II in Lukácsháza. The two-day competition, held on September 19–20, was full of excitement for both individuals and teams, and the final results brought several outstanding performances. The 32 competitors caught a total of 1,245,460 grams, or more than 1.2 tons of fish, during two rounds.

• Zoltán Török is once again the Individual Champion of Vas County

1. Zoltán Török – 2 points – 99,090 g

In the individual competition, Zoltán Török proved to be the most successful, winning the county individual championship title for the third time in the past six years. After his victories in 2021 and 2025, he was able to stand on the top step of the podium again in 2026.

This time, an outstanding performance was needed to win the championship title. In both rounds, he produced the largest catch of the field: on the first day, he caught 48,190 grams of fish, and in the second round, 50,900 grams, achieving sector leadership both times.

During the two rounds, a total of 99,090 grams, or nearly 100 kilograms, of fish ended up in his bag.

This catch is remarkable in itself, and he caught more fish than his team that finished in first place in the field. The individual total catch of 99.09 kilograms was only 4.4 kilograms behind the total two-day team catch of the seventh-placed Vasvári Petőfi Fishing Association and 8.3 kilograms behind the total two-day team catch of the sixth-placed Körmendi Munkás Fishing Association.

• Attila Borsos came second with two sector wins

2. Attila Borsos – 2 points – 68 220 g

Besides Zoltán Török, Attila Borsos was the only competitor who finished both rounds with sector victory.
He finished at the top of his sector with a catch of 37,010 grams on the first day and 31,210 grams in the second round. He collected a total of 2 points in the two rounds, but fell short of his rival in the catch weight required for the championship title, so he ultimately won the silver medal.

• Tibor Pajtli won the bronze medal.

3. Tibor Pajtli – 3 points – 85,540 g

His teammate, Tibor Pajtli, was able to stand on the third step of the podium. The Spartacus competitor produced the second largest individual catch of the entire field: he caught 85,540 grams of fish in two rounds.

In the first round, he finished second in his sector with 38,430 grams, but on Sunday he took first place in his sector with a catch of 47,110 grams. Thus, he finished with a total of 3 points, and won the bronze medal ahead of Gábor Tordai, who also had 3 points, thanks to the larger total catch.

Norbert Misák's performance also deserves special mention. The competitor of the Répcelak City Mining Fishing Association II. produced the third largest catch of the entire field with a total catch of 78,750 grams, but this, together with a 3rd and a 2nd sector placement, was ultimately only enough for seventh place. This also shows how close the individual field was in the top spot.

• The team championship was won by Spartacus HE I. after a tie.

In the team competition, after the first round, the Elektromosok Sportfishing Association I. was still in the lead. The Elektromosok closed the Saturday round with 6 points, while Spartacus HE I. followed them with 9 points.

However, in the second round, the order was reversed: Spartacus I. collected only 6 points, while Elektromosok closed with 9 points. Thus, at the end of the two days, both teams had 15 points each, meaning that the championship title was decided by the weight caught. Spartacus proved to be better in this: over the two days, they caught a total of 261,780 grams of fish, 10,870 grams more than Elektromosok I.

The third-placed Répcelak II. showed extremely stable racing throughout. They collected 13 points in the first round and 15 in the second, thus confidently maintaining their podium position with a total of 28 points.

4. Körmendi Workers' Fishing Association I. – 42 points – 119,440 g

5. Elektromosok Sport Fishing Association II. – 44 points – 120 310 g

6. Körmendi Workers' Fishing Association II. – 45 points – 107,365 g

7. Vasvári Petőfi Fishing Association – 48 points – 103,505 g

8. Répcelak City Miners' Fishing Association – 51 points – 84,735 g

• The second round was the strongest

During the two days of the competition, the 32 competitors caught a total of 1,245,460 grams, or 1.245 tons of fish.

There was a significant difference between the two rounds:

• Round 1, Saturday: 520,875 g
• Round 2, Sunday: 724,585 g

On Sunday, 203,710 grams more fish were weighed than on Saturday, which represents an increase of nearly 40 percent.

• In addition to the high stakes, sportsmanship also played a major role

At a county championship, the stakes were certainly high: every catch, every gram, and every sector result was important. The close results clearly showed that the competitors fought until the last moment for the best possible placements.

Despite the intense competition, all teams and competitors demonstrated a mature, sporting and fair attitude throughout. Over the two days, the competition was held at a high standard and free of conflicts, for which special thanks go to all participants.

The opening, weighing and announcement of results were honored with the presence of Norbert Puskás, the president of the Hungarian National Anglers' Association and the managing director of our Association , who also participated in the award ceremony.
