XXI. Primary School Fishing Competition on the Iron Lakes

The Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations is announcing the “Vasi Vizeken” Primary School Fishing Competition for primary schools for the 21st time. The aim of the competition is to introduce young people to the waters of Vas County, fish, the basics of fishing, and the importance of protecting nature and the wildlife along the water’s edge in a playful and experiential way.

After last year's anniversary year, the competition will continue in a slightly renewed form, to provide experience and useful knowledge for the participating students in the coming decades. In addition to the traditional knowledge-based questions, creative, teamwork-based tasks will also appear in the competition program this year.

During correspondence rounds, teams may encounter tasks in which:

they have to make a photo compilation or short videos together,
they must prepare demonstrations and presentations related to fishing and coastal wildlife,
They can show their knowledge and ideas with creative posters, games or other team tasks.

The goal of the competition is for the participating young people to actively work together as a team, learn about the wildlife of the Vásárlón waters, and get closer to the world of fishing and nature through their own experiences.

The competition will continue to consist of a two-round correspondence competition and an on-site final, where the most successful teams can compete. During the final, participants will also face practical tasks and a joint team fishing competition, as in previous years.

The competition is open to primary school teams of 4 (ages 10–15), led by a preparatory teacher. We are primarily looking for teams from primary schools in Vas and Zala counties.
