Vasi Vizeken–Garbolino–Tacklebait Molnári Cup results

In early September, the gravel pit lake in Půspökmolnár hosted the final round of the Vasi Vizeken Legjobb Sportfishing hobby and youth competition series. Although the low water level of the lake was not ideal, the diverse fish population and the preparedness of the competitors still made for an exciting, close fight in the summer weather.

At the morning technical opening, competition organizers József Mesterházy and Imre Gerencsér explained the rules and the layout of the course to the participants. The adult hobby anglers took their places in three sectors – two 7-person and one 6-person – while nine people in the youth category competed in a common sector.

The young people fishing on the peninsula presented spectacular catches, and there was a close fight for the podium places:

1st place : Goldmann Dominik (Kőszegi - Fish Farm SHE) – nearly 10 kg catch
2nd place : Máthé Zalán (Elektromosok SHE) – 9690 g (only 160 grams behind)
3rd place : Buthi Benjámin (Répcelaki HE) – over 6 kg

There were also close results in the adult field:

1st place : András Fabsitz (Sárvíz-tavi HE) – 11,330 g
2nd place : Kevin Szalai (Fish Farm SHE) – 10,410 g
3rd place : Diána Kajtár (Kőszegi SHE) – 7760 g

Special recognition was given to Andrea Sántáné Tóth (Körmendi Munkás HE), who achieved the second best result as a female competitor, with a catch of more than 3 kilograms.

Nearly 120 kilograms of fish were caught during the day, with the average catch exceeding 4 kilograms . The majority of the catches were carp weighing between 80 dkg and 2 kg, smaller dwarf catfish and crucian carp weighing 10–15 deka.

At the ceremonial announcement of the results, Norbert Puskás , the executive president of the Association, thanked the participants for their sportsmanlike participation and congratulated them. The prizes were presented together with Imre Gerencsér . The winners took home cups, souvenirs and Tacklebait Store shopping vouchers.

Preliminary results

The official announcement of the overall results of the entire competition series will take place at the December board meeting in Vaskeresztes. A preliminary summary of this will soon be available on the Association's website.
