The seventeenth edition of the Vasi Vizek Best Sport Angler competition series is underway.
In 2026, we will announce our county competition series called the Best Sport Angler of Vasi Vizek for the 17th time. The organization, evaluation system and rules of the series will not change, so participants can compare their skills under familiar, predictable conditions.
- Registration and participation conditions
Participation in competitions for adults is still subject to an entry fee of 4,000 HUF/competition.
- Payment of the entry fee:
Payment can be made in advance, by bank transfer, in one lump sum (for the entire series) or separately for each competition. In the latter case, this must be paid no later than the specified entry deadline.
The entry fee must be transferred to the Association's bank account number 72100237-11042428.
When making a reference, the name of the competitor and the name of the given competition/competition series must always be included in the notice.
There is still no possibility of on-site registration and payment!
A total of 5 rounds will be held in the competitive category, of which the County Team Championship counts as two rounds. Since entry to this competition is free, competitors only have to pay the entry fee for the other three competitions.
In the event of a cancelled absence, the entry fee will only be refunded if the competitor was unable to participate in the competition for health reasons, which can be proven by presenting a medical certificate. In other cases, we are unable to refund it.
- Participation in the series
The organization and scoring system will not change, so the final ranking will be determined according to the usual rules.
Competition category evaluation rules:
- You must participate in all 5 of the 5 rounds given in order for the sport angler's results to be evaluated in the competition series.
- Ranking is based on the sector results achieved in the given 5 rounds.
- In case of equal total points, the weight of the total catch will decide the final result.
Evaluation rules for the hobby category:
- You must participate in at least 3 of the 4 rounds provided for the sport angler's results to be evaluated in the competition series.
- The ranking is based on the 3 best results achieved in the 4 specified rounds.
- In the event of a tie, the result achieved in the fourth round will be decisive when determining the final result.
- Competition venues and dates
This year there will be a major change, which will affect only a smaller number of people. Until now, youth competitors have competed on the same day and venue as amateur adults, but in 2026 this will change for two competitions:
- In the Döröskei competition, youth and adults compete on separate days.
- Instead of the Půspökmolnár location, the youth will fish on Lake Répcelak and at a different time.

- Registration begins
Registration for the competitions starts on April 2, 2026 at 9:00 AM. As usual, you can submit entries by category via the Events -> Competition Dates menu item available on our website.
- Supporters
The main sponsors of the competition series remain TackleBait Fishing Shop and Pet Food Trading and Garbolino Wholesale , so the usual high-quality prizes will continue to be awarded. In addition to cups and medals, the well-known gift vouchers will also be awarded.
- Remuneration
The 1st-3rd place winners in each competition and category will receive a trophy and Garbolino-Tacklebait vouchers. The winners of the categories will receive a traveling trophy and the title of "Best Sport Angler of the Vasi Waters 2026". Furthermore, the champions of the adult categories will receive an annual regional ticket valid for 2027 for the fishing waters managed by the Association.
- Children and youth competitions
In addition to adults, we definitely count on children and youth anglers in our series. At all our competitions, we also award special prizes to those competing in the hobby youth category up to the age of 18. Those who will not turn 19 by December 31 of the current year can participate in the youth category, and our competitions continue to be free for them.
There are also more competition opportunities for young people outside of our series. Children's Day fishing competitions will be held throughout the county, as well as traditional youth competitions, such as the Youth Competition, from which you can even get into the national fishing camp, and the one-day County Individual Youth Championship.
- National competitions and preliminary competitions
In addition to feeder and rakós competitions, trout competitions are also gaining an increasingly prominent role in the county. The Vaskeresztesi Alpesi-tó will debut as a new national competition course, which we hope will be a defining location for the Trout Area discipline, as well as the Gyöngyös-patak , where competitors in the shore spinning discipline can fish for fast trout in a natural environment.

- March 28, 2026 – Trout Area National Ranking Points Competition (2025/2026 Round V and 2026 Round III) – Vaskeresztes Alpine Lake
- March 29, 2026 – Trout Area National Ranking Points Competition (2025/2026 Round V and 2026 Round IV) – Vaskeresztes Alpine Lake
- April 10–11, 2026 – 10th National Coastal Spinning Championship – Gyöngyös Stream (Gyöngyösfalu)
- April 18–19, 2026 – VI. Trout Area National Championship Round 1–2 – Vaskeresztes Alpine Lake
The national captain of the Trout Area and Coastal Spinning disciplines also participates in the organization and professional management of the competitions, ensuring a high professional standard.
This year, Lake Abért will once again play a prominent role, as it will host several prestigious national competitions:
