The semi-final of the X. Freestyle Method Feeder OB. was successful.
The 10th semi-final of the MOHOSZ–OTP Bank Hungarian Championships X. Freestyle Method Feeder National Championship was held between June 5–7, 2025. The competition was hosted by the picturesque Abert II Lake in Lukácsháza, where 39 excellent anglers competed to advance.

The three-day competition was preceded by a mandatory training day, where participants prepared for the competition on the lakeside. The good mood, tense concentration and friendly atmosphere characterized the event from the very first moments.
- First round: great catches, ideal conditions
The opening day on Thursday started with ideal weather and excellent fishing. The 39 competitors netted a total of 1636 kg of fish, which was an average of nearly 42 kg per competitor. In addition to carp and grass carp, bream and crucian carp also made up the catch list. Tactically, shorter casting distances dominated, but in several places longer castings of up to 80–90 meters also proved successful.
- Day two: changing catches, exciting close field
On Friday, the anglers had to prove themselves in more difficult conditions. Although a total of 1,266 kg of fish were caught, the change compared to the first round was already noticeable. The best individual performance of the day was 72 kg, but it was possible to win a sector with a catch of around 40–50 kg. According to the competitors, the behavior of the fish changed, so the role of adaptability and tactical decisions was even more emphasized.
After the round, the leaderboard was tied, with three competitors each leading with 4 points:
- Gabor Wellner
- David Attila Komaromi
- David Sipos
They were closely followed by several competitors, so everything remained open for the final day.
- Day three: a decisive round with spectacular weather
The final round on Saturday brought back the level of Thursday – nearly 1.6 tons of fish were weighed in the last five hours. Many of the competitors were able to move up the leaderboard with a stronger hour. For the sector victories, a performance of over 60 kg was required – this showed perfectly how balanced and high-quality the field gathered in Lukácsháza.
Final result and qualifiers:
A total of 4495.5 kg of fish were caught over the three days, which not only speaks volumes about the intensity of the competition, but also about the excellent conditions of the lake.
