The first tasks of our fishing competition are available

In March, we announced the 21st time the Youth Fishing Contest on Vasi Vizeken, which offers an exciting, multi-round competition for primary school students. We are pleased to inform all participants that 14 teams have submitted entries for the 2026 competition by the deadline. This year, the contest will be based on the well-known themes: water, fish, fishing, along which students can test their knowledge through theoretical and creative tasks.

The tasks for the first, theoretical correspondence round of the competition were sent to the email addresses provided upon registration and were also made available under this news item.

The tasks in the first round will again measure multiple skills this year. Theoretical knowledge, creativity, and digital competencies will be required.

Task 1 - Making a team flag (by mail)

The teams' first task is to create a unique, creative team flag that clearly identifies them.

Task 2 - Online task list
(Completing the online worksheet is only possible with a Google account (Gmail address!)

The teams will complete the remaining tasks of the round online. These include:

professional questions on the topic of fish knowledge and fishing
image recognition, analysis
thought-provoking, logical tasks

One of the biggest new features this year is that teams must complete two creative video tasks, during which they can showcase their own style and connection to fishing.

Task 3 – Team introduction video

The team should create a video of no more than 2 minutes in which:

introduce your team
you answer the question: "Why do we like to fish?"

Task 4 – Describe your favorite fishing spot

Make a maximum 2-minute promotional video (short video) about one of the water areas managed by the Association!

The purpose of the video is to show your classmates why it is worth visiting the given place.

Required elements in the video:

name of the body of water
at least 2-3 reasons why you love it
description of the waterfront or environment
participation of at least two team members, if possible

Technical criteria for videos:

maximum size: 100 MB
filename format: favoriteviz/introduction_teamname.extension

If the upload fails due to the size of the file, please send it using a large file sending service to the email address info@vasivizeken.hu by the deadline.

Deadline for submitting solutions: May 10, 2026.

For postal submissions, the date of posting is the determining factor, for online assignments, the timestamp is the determining factor. We are unable to evaluate solutions that arrive late.

If sending by post, please ensure that the envelope has the following format:
"Vasi Vizeken Youth Competition_team name", and the name of the school.

To solve the tasks, we recommend that you do not rely exclusively on internet sources, but also use specialist books and journals, as these contain more reliable, verified information.

In case of a tie, the team that submitted the online task earlier will be awarded the prize. The results will be published within 15 days of the deadline.
