The 9th National Fish Guard Professional Meeting and Competition, organized by the MOHOSZ OHSZK, was held in Szarvas between September 14 and 16, 2026, and was attended by 29 teams from different parts of the country.
The meeting was not just a competition, but also an important forum for the fish guard profession. It provided an opportunity to acquire new knowledge, exchange experiences, and strengthen professional and colleague relationships.
The first day started with professional presentations. Zoltán Faragó, head of the State Fish Guard Service, spoke about the most common violations detected, Ágnes Márkus Patakiné, anesthesiology assistant, presented the importance of professional first aid and resuscitation. The competition began with a tug-of-war in the afternoon, which continued over the following days with professional, theoretical, fitness and skill tasks. The participants had to pass, among other things, water rescue and resuscitation exercises, recognition of aquatic organisms, boat device reconnaissance, fish stocking inspection, report writing and test writing. In addition to serious professional challenges, the program also included good-natured tasks, such as rubber boot throwing or a memory game.
