On July 11, 2026, Vaskeresztes will be populated again, where the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations will organize the Pinka Valley Fish Day for the twelfth time. Over the past years, the event has grown into one of the most popular summer community events in the region, combining fishing, fish gastronomy and family recreation in a full-day program series. This year, the event will once again be hosted by the Alpine Inn and Fishing Tourism Center in Vaskeresztes. Every year, the Fish Day attracts hundreds of participants and nearly two thousand visitors, who come to the Pinka Valley for the special world of competitions, concerts, children's programs and fish dishes.

Fishing competition in three categories

One of the most popular programs of the event this year will be the friendly fishing competition, for which registration has already started.

We are looking for competitors in three categories:

• Hobby category (you can nominate by clicking here.)

• Competition category (you can nominate by clicking here.)

• Youth category (you can nominate by clicking here)

Participants in the youth and competitive categories will compete on two designated sections of the Alpine Fishing Lake, while the hobby category will compete on the Pinka backwater. If water level conditions or other environmental factors make this necessary, the hobby category competition will be held on the Pinka Croat shooting section.

We welcome both beginners and experienced anglers, as the most important goal of the Fishing Day competitions is community experience and sporting recreation.

We are already waiting for the cooking teams to apply.

Fish Day is unimaginable without the fish dish making competition, which has delighted the jury and visitors with many special dishes in recent years. In addition to traditional fish soups, creative fish dishes, smoked fish specialties, fried fish and unique recipes are regularly presented to the jury's table.

This year, we are also looking forward to receiving entries from family, friends, workplace, civil organization, and association teams for the cooking competition.

Whether you want to challenge yourself with a tried-and-true fish soup recipe or a special fish dish, here's your chance to show off your knowledge and spend a fun summer day on the lakeside together.

All-day programs for the whole family

In addition to the competitions, colorful stage and family programs await visitors this year.

One of the featured performers in the afternoon stage programs will be Brandnyúl, who is extremely popular among children, and whose concert is guaranteed to fill the space in front of the stage. The good atmosphere will also be provided by the Varnyú Country Ensemble, who will arrive in Vaskeresztes with a lively concert.

The little ones can enjoy face painting, a bouncy castle, pony rides and fish skills games, while those interested in fishing can take part in professional demonstrations. A wine tasting program will also add to the afternoon for adults.

Of course, the raffle draw cannot be missed this year either, as it is one of the most anticipated programs of the event every year.

Admission to the event is free.

It is a special pleasure for us that the Pinka Valley Fish Day is still open to everyone.

There is no entrance fee for the event, and all accompanying programs are free of charge. The only paid element of the day is the fish tasting, which can be enjoyed by purchasing a sponsor tasting ticket. During the tasting, visitors can taste various regional fish soups, fried fish, whole fried trout, smoked fish and many other fish specialties.
