Between June 11–14, 2026, the Vas County Fishing Association and MOHOSZ jointly organized the semi-finals of the XI. The field consisted of the best of the semi-finals held in various parts of the country, as well as the top competitors from the previous year's ranking list.

Successful Method Feeder OB. Semi-final on Lake Abért

The competition week was preceded by three official training days, where participants could get to know the course and refine their tactics.

The first day of competition: strong winds and distant fishing

The opening round on Thursday was accompanied by strong winds and cool weather after the night storm. The competitors had to find the fish in difficult conditions, which were mostly at a distance of 70–90 meters. Accurate casting and choosing the right distance proved to be key. However, Lake Abért showed its excellent qualities right from the first day, as the field caught a total of 1,555.3 kilograms of fish. Milán Károly Böröndy, Nikoletta Szluka, Zsolt Molnár and György Abonyi took first place in the sectors.

The second round: crucian carp gaining in value

On Friday, the frontal weather noticeably dampened the fish-catching spirit. The competitors had a much more difficult task than the previous day, the carp behaved unpredictably in many places, while the catch of crucian carp took on even greater importance. Although the total catch decreased, it still exceeded 1,125 kilograms. The sectors were won by Dávid Somogyi, Gábor Wellner, Levente Gaál and Ferenc Hoffmann, while the competition for advancement became increasingly tight.

Round three: showers, circling and the fish of the competition

Saturday's round was also colored by two heavy showers, while an extremely even fight developed in the sectors. The most memorable catch of the day was made by Zoltán Török with a 13 kilogram catfish , which significantly contributed to his sector victory. The balance of power changed in several places during the round, so a serious battle unfolded for the places to advance. The total daily catch of 1,307.5 kilograms showed that despite the changing weather, the course continued to provide excellent performance.

The final day: interruption due to a storm and a fight to reach the final

The final round on Sunday brought more tension than ever before. The fate of the places to advance was still open, while the competition had to be briefly suspended due to a severe storm approaching the area. Due to the risk of lightning, safety regulations took priority, and several competitors had to release their fish on the hook during the interruption. Despite the unfavorable conditions, the field still caught more than 1,241 kilograms of fish on the day.

During the four-day semi-final, the 40-person field caught a total of 5,229.9 kilograms of fish. The average catch per competitor was 130.75 kilograms. Despite the changeable weather, Lake Abért once again proved its excellent competition course, and hosted a high-quality, exciting competition throughout. During the four rounds, extremely close battles developed, and sector victories were won by minimal differences on several occasions. Dávid Somogyi deserves special mention, who caught the most fish based on the total catch weight of the four rounds, quantified at 186.425 kg.
