Rahnefeld Max is the winner of the youth championship!
The Vas County Individual Junior Championship was held on 2026.09.19 at the Lukácssházház on Lake Abért II, parallel to the CSB. 8 young people entered the competition, competing in one sector for the best catches and the championship title.
For the title that Rahnefeld Max signed up for quite seriously in the first 10 minutes. He started right away with two nice carp, and then dictated an amazing pace throughout the day... The most beautiful carp and grass carp arrived almost non-stop, so his victory from the middle of the sector was practically never in danger for a moment during the 4 hours.
In the end, Max finished with 41 kilograms, an outstanding performance that would have been considered quite extraordinary even among the best adult anglers in the county today.
On the other side of the sector, Milán Gersei , one of the more experienced riders in the field, tried to keep up with him, but there was simply nothing he could do with this pace.
But the prize for the bronze medal was even bigger!
The battle between Zalán Máthé and Dávid Hatos was open until the last hour. Finally, Zalán turned the match in his favor with a beautiful amur.
And Dávid missed the podium by an astonishing amount. He scored a big one just two minutes before the final whistle, but there was no time left to score...

3. Máthé Zalán – 5,825 g
4. David Six – 4,020 g
5. Laszlo Czekus – 3,440 g
6. Hicz Rebeka – 240 g
7. Annamária Marx – 45 g
8. Máté Mészáros – 40 g
But it's not just the podium winners who deserve praise.
Everyone in the 8-person sector caught fish, even if there were some who only managed a small one this time. As they say: success is success!
It's not easy to compete in a field full of such skilled and already experienced young people. But at this age, every single competition counts! Every fish caught, every decision, every difficult situation and every experience brings you closer to becoming an even better competitive angler.
Moreover, today was not an easy day for the adults either. The lake also caused serious headaches in some places during the team championship, which was taking place in parallel. Everyone needed great adaptability today to achieve a good result.
