Integrated Fishing Day: Seven years together

This year, the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations and the Vas County ÉFOÉSZ Association organized their traditional, friendly pair fishing competition for the seventh time. 15 teams – parents, helpers and disabled anglers – gathered in a cheerful atmosphere on the shore of the Szombathely Boating Lake.

The goal of the event was once again to provide a shared experience, not to be about winning. The teams were made up of an experienced sport angler and two disabled competitors. Several of them have been returning for years, but this year there were also new participants who quickly integrated into the cheerful company.

The competitors were greeted by Norbert Puskás, the executive president of the Association, and then explained the rules. Judit Polgárné Németh presented the day's program and the drawing process. After the drawing of the starting places, each team received the fishing equipment and the snack package prepared by the organizers, and then took their places on the shore.

The two-hour competition, which started with a horn blast, was filled with the sounds of cheerful laughter and soft splashes along the lakeshore. At the weigh-in, a total of 9.11 kilograms of fish, mainly bream, were caught.

At the announcement of the results, each team member received a commemorative card, a package of sweets and a gift, and the podium winners received medals and cups. The awards were presented by Klára Németh, President of ÉFOÉSZ, and Dr. László Győző, Deputy Mayor, who emphasized that this program is a true celebration of community, acceptance and belonging.

At the end of the day, a group photo was taken, in which everyone was smiling, because the biggest prize this time was the afternoon spent together, rich in experiences.

The success of the event is demonstrated by the fact that the organizers are already confident that there will be an Integrated Fishing Afternoon next year, where all those who believe in the power of shared experiences can meet again.

Amount of fish caught: 2730 g

2nd place: Miklós Molnár – András Frank – Viktória Nyögéri – Ildikó Horváth Mecsekiné
Amount of fish caught: 970 g

3rd place: András Báldrics – Zétény Győrvári – Szilvia Góth
Amount of fish caught: 750 g
