II. Boilie Team Competition on Iron Lakes Summary
In mid-September, the shores of Lake Magyarszecsődi were once again populated, as the II. Vasi Vizeken Bojlis Team Competition kicked off, where eight enthusiastic teams compared their skills, endurance and luck in a 72-hour fishing challenge. The event was re-organized, buoyed by the success of the first year, and this year was no exception. Beautiful catches, sporting competition and a great atmosphere characterized the three-day competition.
- Day 1 – Start, draw, tactics
The competition officially began at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. After the morning draw, the teams took their fishing spots, quickly pulled in their gear, and began preparing for the challenges of the next three days.
The weather was changeable, so the anglers had to contend not only with the fish, but also with the forces of nature. The aim of the competition was to see who could land the most carp weighing over 5 kg, and who would have the largest specimen over the three days.
- Day 2 – Rain, bites and the formation of the leading field
The rain arrived on Thursday, but the teams were not deterred. After the first 24 hours, some nice fish were weighed, and at the halfway point the leading position was established:
- Carp Dementors (Sándor Molnár, József Szabó)
- MI-ZO CARP TEAM (Zoltan Horvath, Mihaly Barsony)
- Sports Mogyi (David Varga, Daniel Varga)
That's when they caught the biggest fish of the competition so far: a beautiful carp weighing 15.03 kg, which ultimately proved to be the biggest of the entire competition.
- Day 3 – Night bites and fierce competition
As of Friday morning, the Carp Dementors were still leading the field, with a total catch of nearly 38 kg. The field followed them closely, and more catches were made during the night. The current behavior of the fronts and the fish made the last hours exciting. The score was close, but in the end there were no major surprises.
- Closing and announcement of results
The competition officially ended at 10:00 on Saturday morning. A total of 141,195 grams of fish were weighed over the three days. There were also several smaller catches that did not count towards the results, but clearly demonstrate the rich fish population of the lake.
