There was a competition for Federal Officials in Dörösk

A frosty, icy shore welcomed the invited officials and staff of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations at the Döröskei Reservoir on October 4th during the morning registration. Despite the cold, everyone arrived in good spirits and with positive anticipation – the friendly fishing atmosphere was already palpable during the draw and during the joint preparations.

As the sun rose over the hills of Vasi-hegyhát, the area around the lake almost came to life, and a real autumn fishing season set in. Sunshine, a light breeze and pleasant warmth accompanied the four-hour race.

A total of 90 kilograms of fish were caught by the 11 starting teams in the competition. The more successful pairs caught 3–6 carp weighing 1.5–2 kilograms, but in several places bream also appeared in large numbers. The competitors of the Kőszeg Sport Fishing Association, Richárd Kelemen and Zsolt Preiner, achieved a level that rivaled the performance of many carp teams, mainly with their bream catches.

The catch consisted mainly of carp and bream, but some silver crucian carp, pygmy catfish and sunfish were also caught – these were less welcome guests in the nets. In the cold water, the fish moved deeper, so the method feeder technique proved to be the most effective, while the float methods brought less results this time.

The pair of Attila Mátyás and Ferenc Nagy fished confidently this year as well, and with a total catch of 16.87 kilograms, they were able to stand on the top step of the podium again. By repeating their victory from last year, they proved that they achieved the best result not only in domestic waters, but also on a new course – this time in Dörösk.

The weighing was followed by the ceremonial announcement of the results, at which Marietta Horváthné Varga, mayor of Döröske, greeted those present and warmly invited the anglers to visit Döröske with their families as often as possible.
Norbert Puskás, the executive president of the Association, thanked the Döröske Municipality and Mayor Marietta Horváthné Varga for the excellent cooperation, the work of the association colleagues in organizing the competition, and the competitors' sporting participation and friendly attitude.

After the announcement of the results, we hosted the participants and helpers with a real Döröske stuffed cabbage lunch with the help of chef Zoltán Güth - the shared lunch was a worthy end to the friendly, good-natured day.
