County competition series: start in May, new location on the calendar!

New year, new challenges, but the traditions remain the same: Our usual county fishing series is starting for the sixteenth time! This year, fishing enthusiasts will not be left without a chance to compete, and we are even preparing a new one: the Döröske Reservoir has also been added to the list of locations!

County competition series: start in May, new location on the calendar!

Participation in our county fishing competitions is possible for adults, regardless of category, by paying an entry fee. The entry fee is 3000 HUF/competition, which can be paid in one lump sum or separately in the case of pre-submitted entries, up to the registration deadline preceding each competition.
It is not possible to pay the entry fee on site on the day of the competition! The entry fee must be paid to the Association's bank account number 72100237-11042428. It is absolutely necessary to indicate the name of the competition and the name of the competitor in the transfer notice! (For example: Kiss János – Abért Cup, Karát Cup or in case of entry for the entire series: Kiss János – Vasi Vizeken competition series)

A total of 5 rounds will be held in the competitive category, of which the County Team Championship counts as two rounds. Since entry to this competition is free, competitors only have to pay the entry fee for the other three competitions.
In the event of a cancelled absence, the entry fee will only be refunded if the competitor was unable to participate in the competition for health reasons, which can be proven by presenting a medical certificate. In other cases, we are unable to refund it.

There have been no changes to the competition rules or procedures this time, only the competitor category has been affected by a significant change in terms of scoring – based on the request of the regular competitors in the category.

NEW evaluation rules for the competitive category:

- You must participate in all 5 of the 5 rounds provided in order for the sport angler's results to be evaluated in the competition series.

- Ranking is based on the sector results achieved in the given 5 rounds.

- In case of equal total points, the weight of the total catch will decide the final result.

Evaluation rules for the hobby category:

- You must participate in at least 3 of the 4 rounds provided for the sport angler's results to be evaluated in the competition series.

- Ranking is based on the 3 best results achieved in the 4 rounds specified.

- In the event of a tie, the result achieved in the fourth round will determine the final result.

Anglers who have obtained their license from one of the Association's member clubs and who enter the Vasi Vizeken cups announced by the Association will automatically participate in the 16th "Best Sport Angler of Vasi Vizek" competition series, which will include the following competitions in 2025:

This year, a new location is joining our competition series. The Döröskei Reservoir will host a complete competition weekend, as on Saturday, hobby and youth anglers can try themselves and the lake, while on Sunday it will be the turn of the competitors. Thanks to the winter landscaping and other maintenance work carried out by our association, anglers will be greeted by a tidy, sophisticated environment, and in the meantime, there will be plenty of other fishing opportunities, so everything is set for an exciting competition.

We would like to draw the attention of hobby anglers to the fact that this round, scheduled for May 17, falls on a Saturday, but it will be a working day. If possible, plan your participation accordingly, and if necessary, it is advisable to arrange for vacations at work in good time. Unfortunately, due to the fullness of the competition calendar and the organization of other Federation programs, we cannot hold the competition at another time.

The winners of the categories at the end of the season will receive the traveling cup and the title of "Best Sport Angler of Vasi Vizek 2025" . Furthermore, the first place winners of the competitive and hobby categories will win an annual area ticket valid for 2025 for the fishing waters managed by the Association, in addition to other valuable gifts. Thanks to the sponsorship of the TackleBait Fishing Shop and Pet Food Trading and the Garbolino Wholesale , the anglers who achieve a place in our competitions will also receive valuable shopping vouchers in addition to cups and medals.

In addition to adults, we definitely count on child and youth anglers. In every competition, we also award special prizes to those competing in the hobby youth category up to the age of 18. Those who will not turn 19 by December 31 of the current year can compete in the youth category, and our competitions continue to be free for them.

We are announcing the 2025 Vármegye Individual Youth Championship, the one-day competition will be held in parallel with the County Team Championship on September 20th on Lake Abért. The youth championship is open to youth (U25) competitors who are members of one of the associations of the Vas Vármegye Fishing Association. Those of both sexes in the U25 age group who have not reached their 25th birthday by December 31st of the year preceding the championship can participate.

On June 28, we will hold the county Youth Fishing Competition on Lake Répcelaki in two categories, which are called "Pre-trained" (10-14 years old) and "One-year-old" (15-18 years old). Competitors who achieve 1-3 places in each category will receive souvenirs and fishing gifts. Furthermore, the first three high school winners of the "One-year-old" category of the competition - with the exception of travel costs - can participate in the final of the MOHOSZ 2025 National Fishing Competition to be held in the summer, free of charge, with full board (accommodation, meals).

The registration interface for the competitions will be available on our website from 11:00 a.m. on March 31, 2025 (Monday), in the events-competition dates menu.
Just like last year, this year too, separate entry platforms were created for those competing in the hobby (adult, youth) and competitive categories.

We can accept approximately 30-50 registrations per location, so it's not worth delaying!
