Children's Day fishing competition in Dörösk
Summer warmth greeted the young people and their parents who arrived at the picturesque Döröskei Reservoir for the Children's Day Fishing Competition on Sunday morning. The traditional event, organized by the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations and the Sárvíz Lake HE, aimed to provide an exciting day for children interested in fishing.
Following the opening ceremony by the main organizer Dániel Szabó and Norbert Puskás, the executive president of the Association, the children excitedly drew lots for their fishing spots. Both young and old enthusiastically prepared for the competition. After the morning gathering and opening ceremony, 30 young anglers took possession of the coastal fishing spots. The competition took place in three age groups: kindergarteners, lower and upper school students could compare their knowledge and luck.
During the competition, the children caught smaller crucian carp, bream, pygmy catfish and some larger carp in a friendly atmosphere. Fishery guards Dániel Szabó and Balázs Szekeres, as well as Dani's partner, Anna Horváth, helped the children endure the summer heat by distributing refreshments.
At the ceremonial announcement of the results, every participating child received a federal gift package, which the Döröske Municipality also supplemented with Haribo gummy candy - we would like to thank you for the donation!
In addition to cups and medals, the category winners also received valuable fishing equipment from MOHOSZ, for which we would like to express our gratitude!

During the competition, which lasted just two hours, the young competitors caught more than 30 kilograms of fish - this shows how seriously they took the challenge.
At the award ceremony, Marietta Horváthné Varga, Mayor of Döröske, congratulated all the participating young people and warmly welcomes the children back to the town, whether for a next competition or a pleasant family fishing trip.
