Change in the organization of the ABÉRT-TÓ CUP

We would like to inform our fellow anglers that the VASI VIZEKEN–GARBOLINO–TACKLEBAIT ABÉRT-TÓ KUPA 2026 competition, announced for June 21, 2026, had to be modified to adapt to the extraordinary circumstances caused by the asbestos contamination of the Abért-tó parking lot. The competition will still be held in three categories, but on two separate days!

As previously reported, accredited inspections by the West Transdanubian Water Management Directorate revealed the presence of asbestos in the large parking lot of Lake Abért, the fishing parking lot, and the road connecting them. In the interests of the safety of the public and anglers, the property manager has temporarily closed the affected parking lots.
The significant limitation of parking options, as well as the fact that the water management permits issued for the use of the roads behind the embankment only allow limited traffic, do not ensure the simultaneous reception and safe conduct of the competition for the originally planned number of participants.

The Organizing Committee therefore decided to hold the competition on two separate days:

June 20 (Saturday)

• Hobby adult category

June 21 (Sunday)

• Competitor category
• Youth category

The rules and timing of the competition in the competition announcement remain unchanged; the modification only affects the timing of the competition.

We would like to draw the attention of those who have registered that if they do not wish to participate in the competition due to the modified schedule, or if the designated competition day is not suitable for them, they should notify us by Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the latest by calling +36 70 33 99 709 or by e-mail to toth.milan@vasivizeken.hu.

The aim of the amendment is to ensure that the competition can be held safely, under appropriate conditions and at the usual standard, despite the current situation.

We would also like to emphasize that fishing is still permitted on Lake Abért. The current restrictions apply only to the use of the affected parking lots, and temporarily designated parking spaces are still available for anglers.

We hope that despite the extraordinary circumstances, as many people as possible will participate in the competition and that we can organize a successful, sporting VASI VIZEKEN–GARBOLINO–TACKLEBAIT ABÉRT-TÓ CUP in mid-June.
