A children's fishing competition was held on Lake Répcelak
Getting children to love fishing and involving young people in the community is an important and dear duty of our Association and our member associations. We are pleased to announce another children's fishing competition organized by the Répcelak City Miner Fishing Association, which was held on the last Sunday of August on the Répcelak Lake. The report on the event prepared by the association's president, Attila Kádi, is published below.
True to our tradition, we held our children's fishing competition on Lake Répcelak on the last Sunday of August. We welcomed the 16 registered young anglers in brilliant weather and with great love.
In the morning, after the rules were explained and the draw was made, the preparations began. While the children took their places, the active helpers of our association had already prepared the fur-lined bread, which everyone ate with a good appetite while they were still preparing.

The four-hour competition started at eight o'clock, and after the first casts the fish showed up nicely. Almost all of the children chose feeder fishing. Carp were active in most places, but they also caught bream and grass carp.

While the children were fishing, the youngest visitors to the tents could also try fishing by using magnetic fishing with plush fish. Erika's mother, Erika Kovácsné, took a major part in making and sewing this, and we would like to thank her.

After the competition, the weighing began, which the children followed with great excitement. The weighing was assisted by Zoltán Töreki and Péter Csipszer , who returned from the 24-hour competition, to whom we would like to thank.

Meanwhile , Norbert Puskás, the CEO of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, the president of MOHOSZ and his family, arrived, accepting our invitation. Of course, the president did not arrive empty-handed either, he contributed with gifts to the many offerings and support.

While the results were being evaluated, Zoltán and his wife, Anita, and Erika and her partner, András, served the spaghetti bolognese they had prepared, for which everyone was a guest of the association.
The results were as follows:

1st place: Bucsek Noel – 46,010 g
2nd place: Buthi Benjamin – 21,550 g
3rd place: Gergő Gábor Hegyi – 16,040 g
4th place: Krisztián Szabó – 13,610 g
5th place: Alex Bencsik – 12,520 g
6th place: Peter Red – 9,720 g
The sixteen young people caught a total of more than 164 kg of fish. The average catch per person was 10,260 g.

The special prize for the largest fish went to Gábor Gergő Hegyi for a 6190 g carp, while our only female competitor, Réka Ivánkovics, also received a special prize.
Our two youngest anglers, Ármin Egyed and Zoltán Hegyi, received a set of ping pong bats. On behalf of the County Association, Norbert Puskás presented the two youngest anglers with fishing reels.

But in addition, every child who participated returned home with lots of gifts and shopping vouchers.
Finally, we would like to thank you for the many donations and support, as well as Erika, Anita, Zoltán and András for their work on the competition.
