We visited Kaposvár at the MA-HAL 48th National Fishing Competition
The Hungarian Aquaculture and Fisheries Association (MA-HAL) organized the traditional National Fishing Competition again this year, which this time took place within the framework of the Kaposvár Animal Husbandry University Days, organized by the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Magyar Mezőgazdaság Kft. Although the weather was not favorable, despite the all-day rain, the teams persistently cooked the most delicious fish dishes.
The Vas County Federation of Sport Fishing Associations also participated in the competition, where Rábai fish soup and a tasty iron fish dish were put on the jury's table. In addition to iron fish dishes , Vaskeresztesi Mittli wine and Toronyi Kenyér awaited the bravest visitors. In addition to trout from the Vaskeresztes Pinka Fish trout farm, the iron fish bowl also contained bream, perch and catfish.
The Vasi Vizek team was led by Miklós Seregi, the team members: László Laki, József Mesterházy, Tibor Monos, Csilla Monosné Varga, Norbert Puskás and Anikó Puskás-Pehm. 40 teams participated in this year's national fish cooking competition, and many excellent fish soups and fish dishes were produced, so the jury was not in an easy position. Unfortunately, the team of our association did not achieve a podium finish, but we received many positive recognitions from the guests who came for the tasting, and by the end of the event, everything was sold out. Overall, the competition took place in an excellent atmosphere, and the maintenance and building of friendships between fishermen and fish producers was realized, which is another main goal of the event from the beginning.
The day before the event, our Vas county team visited Hungary's longest artificial lake, the 8-kilometer-long and 26-kilometer-circumfered, 245-hectare Deseda lake. The Kaposvári Sport Fishing Association is entitled to fish management of the lake, which is mostly owned by the local government. We visited the lake from a boat and also saw the international level competition course created with the support of MOHOSZ. We would also like to thank Miklós Kozári for the fishing-friendly welcome.
And on Saturday evening , our fellow angler Károly Bokor, the vice-president of the Hungarian National Fishing Association and the president of the Baranya County Association of Fishing Associations, joined our team. During the evening, we talked about national trends and current events affecting fishermen, and the situation of the Sárvíz lake in Gersekarát was also discussed. From the very beginning, the iron fishermen have enjoyed the support of the MOHOSZ in the matter, the president and director general of the MOHOSZ asked the Gersekarát Municipality in an official letter so that our association could continue fishing on the lake. We thank Károly Bokor for the visit, the friendship and the late-night conversation.
Here again, we heartily congratulate all the cooking teams who achieved a place!
