We organized the Integrated Fishing Day in 2026 as well
On October 7th, we organized this year's Integrated Fishing Day on Vas Waters at the Szombathely Boating Lake, jointly organized by the Vas County ÉFOÉSZ Association.
The program, which can be called a tradition, is not a simple fishing competition. It is more of a shared afternoon where sport fishermen and disabled participants sit together on the waterfront, try to hunt for fish, help each other, and experience the joys of catching fish together.
This is what makes the event special. At the waterfront, it doesn't matter who has what routine, knowledge, or track record. Every catch brings happiness to everyone, and the fish caught is a shared success. This year's Integrated Fishing Day also showed that fishing truly has the power to shape and unite communities.
During the afternoon, randomly formed teams participated in a two-hour fishing trip. Our association provided the basic fishing equipment, bait and food, so all participants really had to bring was a good mood and enthusiasm for catching fish.
Fortunately, the Boating Lake was also a great place to visit. Those present were able to encounter several species of fish, including bream, crucian carp, perch, bream, flounder, sunfish and carp. But perhaps more importantly, all participants managed to catch fish.
The large crowd of spectators that had formed in the meantime accompanied the deliberations following the final whistle of the "competition" with great excitement.
The first-place team caught more than five kilograms of fish, but the participants were just as happy with the smaller catches. After all, grams were not the most important result on this day.

This year's Integrated Fishing Day proved once again that everyone really won on this day.
We gained new experiences, shared memories, friendly encounters and lots of smiles.
