The development of Vasvári Fishing Lake No. II has been completed

The lake's water surface area has increased by a thousand square meters, a more orderly shoreline and a 247-meter-long circular embankment have been built at Vasvári Fishing Lake No. II. The investment was implemented with nearly 9.4 million forints, for which the Vasvár City Government provided a subsidy of 5 million forints.

The development of Vasvári Fishing Lake No. II has been completed, the primary goal of which was to improve the previously difficult to use, fragmented shoreline, make the lake environment safer and improve fishing opportunities. As a result of the works, a larger water surface and a more organized shoreline can be available to anglers, creating the possibility of further environmental improvement and the creation of new fishing spots. However, due to the lack of precipitation, the lake would still need water replenishment so that the expanded bed section can be properly filled.

During the development, the lake's water surface increased by approximately 1,000 square meters. By arranging the riverbed and shoreline, areas that were previously less suitable for fishing due to their fragmented design became usable.

As part of the investment, a 247-meter-long circular embankment was built, which serves to protect the lake and its immediate surroundings, and also provides an opportunity to walk around the lake for recreational purposes.

During the construction works, approximately 1,800 cubic meters of soil were excavated, which were utilized locally to create the circular embankment. This use of the excavated soil was part of the technical implementation of the investment.

The development did not only mean increasing the water surface. The tidier lake shore and safer environment can also contribute to the development of fishing infrastructure in the long term.

The total cost of the investment was HUF 9,374,496. This amount includes not only the cost of construction, but also the coverage of surveys prior to the works, the necessary planning and regulatory procedures, licensing tasks, technical inspection, and other related costs.

The investment was financed from two sources:

• The Municipality of Vasvár provided a grant of 5,000,000 HUF.
• Our Association covered 4,374,496 forints from its own resources.

We thank the Municipality of Vasvár for their support and cooperation, which contributed to the development of the fishing infrastructure.

Thanks also go to the management and volunteer members of the Vasvári Petőfi Fishing Association, who are actively working to make the lake's environment more beautiful and tidy during and after the development.

The development of Vasvári Fishing Lake No. II will not end with the recently completed investment, we hope. The public procurement procedure for the TOP Plusz development, worth approximately 31.5 million forints, aimed at further modernizing the two Vasvári lakes and their surroundings, may be published soon.

Following the successful completion of the procedure, new developments are planned to be implemented by the end of 2027. The ideas include the installation of benches, a covered resting area, a fireplace, bicycle storage and playground equipment, the improvement of roads and shorelines, the creation of new fishing spots, and significant landscaping.

The goal of the planned investments is to make the two lakes more attractive not only for fishing but also for cultural leisure activities, and to provide visitors with a more organized environment that serves a variety of needs.

The implementation of the next development phase depends on the outcome of the public procurement procedure and further preparation of the investment.

Our association continues to work to ensure that the fishing waters under our management are not only valuable in their fish stocks, but also continuously improve in their environment, infrastructure, and the opportunities they provide for anglers.
